Long Load time
 

Not sure if anybody else has seen this. Since I put the map2 on there I get extremely long start times.

Map updater goes fine, loads game. I can login, patcher screen for eq2 goes away. I see the everquest2.exe in my processes, but it just sits there. If I let it run for 5 to 10 minutes (no exaduration) the game finally pops up with my character and I can enter the game.

After that the game runs fine, it is just getting into the damn game.....

Are you absolutely sure this has to do with the new map system? Try turning it off (ie use the map1 system) and see if you still have that issue. The maps shouldn't even be loading until your character starts loading into the world, so I don't know how or why it would cause EQ2 to hang in the background like that.

Sounds strange. Maybe some antivirus software getting stuck on some file?
