ACT/Profit mod
Hey I heard there was a profit overlay to embed the ACT aoe timer window directly into your game UI, sounded too good to be true and I searched for it and couldnt find anything on it, but I figured I would ask here since somebody said it existed. If there is such a thing please tell me where it is, if not, Ill keep dreaming, thanks.

Too good to be true. ACT is an outside application and as such cannot really interact with the in-game interface.
|
I never tried... but if you can make a custom window with a /browser page inside, that could easily be one as ACT has a couple different methods of creating automatic webpages.
If you can't, then the /browser window itself can be used. |
Okay, thanks guys. I figured it was too good to be true and Im a bit too technically challenged to figure out how to do it through a modified webpage /browser thing, but thank you for your responses.

I think you refer to the very old (but still functionable) directxoverlay-plugin, which has nothing to do with profit actually
![]() this piece however is not in developement anymore, the creator does not play eq2 anymore *sigh* i do have the zip, containing the necessary DLLS, around somewhere, if needed i probably even have the source on HDD, kaladros provided it for us if anyone has any interest in taking the project... i quit doing that, didn't had the time to learn the programming i'd like to see a progress on that nonetheless....in its current form it provides AEtimers in a free configurable overlay, so you dont have to play eq in windowed mode anymore but nothing else i remember he tried to implement miniparse also, but he quitted playing shortly after, so not much progress on that done |
That could be what they were talking about it, if you can pm me and attach the file Ill see if I can get it to work for me, thanks in advance.

this is the compiled dll + cs as latest stable release the DLL must be in your ACTfolder AND in your Eq2 main directory then install the cs-plugin in act, rest should be obvious i think i also found the uncompiled SRC, though i think it was version 1.7 or something, so its not the source of 1.5 however, if anyone wants to have a look into it, here you go http://www.phoenix-raid.de/Images/OverlaySRC.zip |
