New User- Install problems and file paths
Hello all,
I am new to eq2 and have never downloaded anything from this site or any other. I am running Windows 7. I was referred to EQ2map by a friend in game and I am having problems with my file path when I start the program: 1. I click the EQ2Map Updater Icon 2. It asks me to find my Everquest2.exe file 3. I choose the path: "C:\ProgramData\Sony Online Entertainment\Installed Games\EverQuest II\" and press "open". 4. This launches EQ2Map Auto Updater. The updater opens after the 3 second delay with an error: Error Opening Database File: mscorlib at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.Directory.InternalCreateDirectory(String fullPath, String path, DirectorySecurity dirSecurity) at System.IO.Directory.CreateDirectory(String path, DirectorySecurity directorySecurity) at EQ2MAPUpdater.MainWindow.DownloadUpdates()Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\EQ2MAP Updater\cache\' is denied. Thank you all in advance and I hope my post is specific enough to help you help me! |
Please take a look at the very first listing in the Common Problems thread. You need to run the updater as an admin if your install really is in program files.
If it's not in program files and is in that other directory you indicated, then you do not have your Everquest2.exe file selected properly. Go to options and click the first browse button and then navigate to there to select it. |
Man, do i feel silly now. I must have hit cancel instead of apply. Thanks for pointing out my over-site. This is a wonderful tool. Keep up the great work!
