Suggestion for future update
 

I have a suggestion for a future update.

Would it be possible to add a button next to the name in your friends list that you can press to send them a tell. Press the button and it puts the info in chat ready for you to type your message....ie:

/tell friendsname

Would make it easier to send tells to friends, especially those that are on other servers.

Would be nice to see that in the guild screen also right next to the invite button. Just a suggestion...:)

I did these mods in my version of Fetish. There is a side effect of doing it in the guild window because you can't get first name only, you get the whole name and title. For example, /Tell FirstName LastName the Dirge [and then your text].

I just backspace to remove the title and lastname if they have one and then type my text.

Be sure to backup your original files before using these.

The tell is obvious in the friends window. In the guild window, I have it placed on the description line at the front. If there is no description, the icon won't appear, but hovering over the area will still give you the option.

Oh Yea!!...I like it...thats what I was wanting exactly....maybe Zonx can figure a way for it to only do the name in the guild window....but as it is, the friends window is perfect, and yes, I can backspace the title off from the guild window tell....Thank You Very Much!

I have been debating adding this feature to the friends window for ages but haven't really wanted to make the trade-offs.

To make this work with the UI controls as they are requires ditching the sort capability, which I like. I've been hoping Rothgar or some other industrious coder at SOE would enhance the Table and ListBox controls to include the same "selectedItem" functionality present on the regular List and dropDown controls, but so far it hasn't happened.

I've been meaning to try hacking in an extra tab just for this, just haven't had the time.

An invite to group button on the friends window would be cool too, especially with our friends with hard to spell names. :P

Both suggestions would be Great additions to the UI I think. :)
