UI just won't load
 

I recently installed windows 7 and had to reinstall EQ and all my UI but I haven't had any luck getting the UI loaded. I have followed all the directions to the T except that when creating the .ini it only offers to make a new folder in the EQ2 directory. I made the .ini elsewhere and just moved it, I don't know why this would change anything though. So anyone have any ideas as to why the UI wouldn't load, I'm not sure where to go from here.

I think my problem may have something to do with the patcher. I have gotten into everquest from other .exe files where it skipped the patcher. I click the icon, it loads the new will of a tyrant graphics and pops up the log in right away. When I log in like this, the UI is all there and functioning. However I tried to log in this morning and it told me that my version of the game did not match the server's and I couldn't log in. So I went back to everquest2.com, loaded the patcher and I got into the game successfully, with no UI... Any ideas as to how I could resolve this?

You have several EQ2 installations (yes you do), install your UI to the correct one.
