In-game browser oddities
2 Attachment(s)
I have a very strange problem with the in-game browser. Attached is an image. It's almost as if it's not applying CSS of websites to display the website correctly.
It started happening over the past months and seems to always happen. Occasionally it'll display things correctly, but I'm not sure why. Any suggestions? |
I've seen that happen on EQ2i (I don't really use zam) occasionally, but not with the in-game browser. It's happened in regular Firefox whenever EQ2i is lagging bad (ie the actual page manages to get loaded, but the stylesheet is stored separately and didn't get loaded properly). Never seen that happen in the in-game browser yet, but my guess would be it has to do with those referenced stylesheets.
EDIT: Hmm, took a look at Zam in regular firefox and got the same thing I see at EQ2i on occasion -- messed up stylesheet (resulting in things piled on top of each other and general inability to read anything useful). |
It's just that it happens to me literally 99% of the time, and it's quite annoying :(
And I never get that problem in normal firefox. Though ZAM's topbar sometimes doesn't show up right for me no matter what browser I use. A refresh fixes that usually. I tried deleting what looked like the browser stuff from my EQ2 folder and let it re-download but it didn't seem to help a bit. |
Shot in the blue: something like this can happen if the server (or client side scripting) selects stylesheets based on the user-agent header and if it does not recognize a browser it serves a minimal default style.

Well, all of today I've had no problems what-so-ever.... so I'm enjoying it while it's normal.
No idea what was at fault, but glad to see it's no a problem anymore (for the time being ;) ) |
