EQ2 Map error: Cannot load eq2, load manually

I have Windows 7 64-bit Operating System. I also use UI Profit.

I am getting the following error message when trying to start EQ2 Map Updater:

Error trying to launch EQ2. Please open manually.

Any ideas on how to correct the problem? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Just a note: I had no problems running EQ2 Updater and UI profit before loading the Win 7 64-bit OS.

The path to your eq2 installation is wrong, use the browse button in options to find everquest2.exe file to set the path right.

I don't have Win 7 but vista and the problem that I am having is when I run upderdater it goes thought updates all the files then at 100% at the end I get an error saying error writing log file...I don't know what that is and how to fix it. When I launche the EQ2 the map is still the same...

Help!

Can you explain (in simple terms) how I can fiz the path, It doesn't let me when I try to type in the same as the eq2..
Also it said to open a new folder in the EQ2 dir. and put
cl_ui_skinname bobsui
cl_ui_subdir UI/

But since I don't know much about computers I don't know how to and how to make it a ini. Need big time help

If you get the autoupdater set up properly, you won't have to make your own ini -- the updater will do that for you.

When you open the updater, go to options. It'll say "Everquest 2" and underneath that will be a box with a path in it (that you can't edit) and next to that is a Browse button. Click the Browse button, then find your EQ2 installation.

If you're using the Station launcher, from the main menu you should be able to do "Station -> EverQuest II" in order to find the path to your install. That's where you should be Browsing to in the updater.
