Questions of how to properly edit transport POI's
I have a question regarding The Points of Interest for griffon towers, Sokokar posts, etc.
I have edited some of the POI's myself to include in the description the locations you can fly to from the POI. For instance POI#37124 (Sokokar Post Jarsath Wastes) I personally edited this POI to include in the description the following information, (Fly to The Highton or Terran's Grasp from here) When going there today (About 2 or 3 weeks after I edited it), I noticed the description was now blank. Is modifying these POI's something you do not want us doing as the submitter is SOE or ? I personally like having that in the description so when I hover my mouse over the map, it shows where I can fly to so I can plan my route. Could you tell me information of how to properly modify these POI's so that the description will show the flight paths? Thank you, Scorchingice aka Wildsong Guk server |
Currently they way I coded it every -SOE- POI is automatically being updated from time to time to reflect the "official" file, unfortunately also removing useful additions like the yours. I have been discussing with jnils whether we should change this, he'll post when he made up his mind. :)

thank you
Thank you,
I just wanted to make sure editing the descriptions wasn't upsetting anyone. |
Sorry that your data was lost, didn't know of the auto run of the SOE POI importer :o
Thats why i have accepted changes to SOE pois, as i thought that i had time to make a fix for this until we ran the importer again. But for now i think we will disable editing of SOE pois until we can manage it better to avoid your changes will be erased . |

Actually I'd rather see the data merged. Just append the user info to SOE's info when the script is run but keep the two separate. And no I am not gonna code it, there are enuff hands are in there as it is.. :P

I have an idea on how to solve it , but it takes time and i lack it for the moment , but it will get fixed sooner or later :P
Ok , we leave the POI's editable then , but you has to be aware that they can be reset. |
