Best Guardian UI??
What Ui would be the best for a Guardian Tank?
|
The truth is that there's no one answer to your question. There's very little in a UI that can make a guardian's task easier. I suggest you get familiar with macros first, and fill the gaps with individual UI pieces.
Most everyone else will tell you to use profit, or fetish. In the end, it's just a matter of what works for you. |
I have a guard and use prophet ui I really like prophet I did mod it slightly to my own personal preferances but in all I really like this ui. I highly agree with the comment here too that Macros are key to any class to improve speed and ease of hotbars.

Most of the major custom enhancements other classes find invaluable aren't really needed by a Guard. They don't cure others, don't cast across raid, aren't concerned with maintaining/refreshing spells... etc.
But there are several things I think everyone should consider when it comes to UI, regardless of class. - Stability: do SOE updates often break important features, are key features flaky or missing. - Support Long-term: will the author be around in 2 months, or a competent replacement. - Support Short-term: when you ask a question about the UI, how long until you get a reasonable response. - Visual fluff: do you like UI with bling or prefer to see the world. - Performance impact: various UIs produce more/less lag, how much you care usually depends on your system. - General adventuring: features like Autoloot, Autodecline, Assist, Follow, AFK, Performance settings, etc. Not game changing but together can amount to a large convenience. - Informational stuff: to save time finding commonly referenced info. - Web integration quest, item, mob, etc. lookups. - Customizable can you tweak things to your liking or does the UI lock you into undesirable assumptions. - Evolution: Is the UI constantly improving? Is it usually first to introduce a new feature, an early adopter, or late adopter? Default UI is intended for the new user. Its intentionally kept simple. Obviously it scores high on the first 2 or 3 factors, but less than stellar on the others. As for comparing the major custom UIs, I'll leave others to judge. At this point feature sets are very similar. Key differences are mostly in Support, Visual and Evolution. |
Nice post! :)
Should we sticky that? |
