Knowledge Window and linking products
 

Hi,
I've been using Fetish for years and really like it. But there have been a couple of things I'd like to know how to do.

According to the Customization page:
eq2ui_mainhud_knowledge.xml (default) 2x8 layout with 4x4 toggle button
Where is the 4x4 toggle button? In 2x8 mode, the sort is still in groups of 4. Or how do I get a proper sort in 2x8?

The other thing, and I'm pretty sure I could do it before, is how do I link the finished product from the crafting/recipe window, i.e., link something I can craft?

Right click the recipe to examine it. Then use the product icon on the recipe examine to link the finished good in whatever way you normally use (you can open the examine for the actual item and use the icon on that window as well).

I can bring up the examine window of the crafted item (I see all of its stats), but how do I make the link from the window?

I can only make links by dragging the actual item into the chat line. Is there another way?

Clicking on the icon should send it to the chat. I believe shift-clicking on it should work as well. (If its not shift, its ctrl or alt, I forget which)

Hi,
I have two chat windows. One window that has all non combat text and another that has just combat text. After deleting and re-creating the combat text window, I found the links! Now the problem (and I remember this was the case before it stopped working) is that shift-left-click on an examine window puts the link in the combat text window.

I have "always chat here" set on the non combat window. Any ideas on how to get the links to show in that window?

This happens to me too but only from the crafting windows. If I shift-click any thing in my inventory it goes to the correct chat window. An answer to this would solve sooooo much aggravation! :)

To quote from my known game issues page:

• Some item links will currently go into your first chat window, regardless of whether it is open or closed and regardless of which window you selected for "Always chat here". So make sure you set that up to receive chat input and be visible (if you have closed it use the open existing chat window option in the right click menu). Issue since GU50 I think, maybe longer.

I switched the windows around and now it all works. Thanks very much.

Any thoughts on the Knowledge book sort or layout question?

The Customization notes regarding the Knowledge book are out of date. The ability to change layouts on the fly was removed for performance reasons (it made openeing the book dog slow). A 4x5 version can be found in your Fetish directory named

_basic_eq2ui_mainhud_knowledge.xml

To use the 4x5 layout, rename the standard version to something like
_2x8_eq2ui_mainhud_knowledge.xml

then make a copy of the basic named
eq2ui_mainhud_knowledge.xml
