Spell crit bonus
Any chance we can get spell crit bonus added to the persona stats?
|
I asked about this type of addition in a previous thread, the answer was SOE has that window hard coded. I don't know if it can or cannot be done, although I do know as of now you are stuck with what you see currently.

Interesting theory. However, spell crit stats have been on the persona window since they were added to the game, so I'm not sure what this is about.

I Thought You Quit Sir!

No I only retired. That means I still get to stick around and make witty comments but without all the responsibility!

Out of all the things I predicted you would say, that did not even come to mind. Touché sir Touché! That was a good one :(

Just thought I'd clear something up here...
Spell crit has indeed been on the persona window for some time, the wonderful thing that it is but... Spell crit bonus is something else entirely that's appeared on the higher end T8 armours. I believe it adds to the amount of damage a crit does entirely seperately to the basic crit rating that just determines whether you crit or not (i.e +2 crit bonus adds 2% to actual damage the crit hit does). However, I suspect that the answer is simply that if the default UI doesn't show it then neither can profitui. It may well be a stat that SoE haven't forwarded to the ui screen as yet...although I am only guessing here. **EDIT** Check out this link for an item that has both examples on it http://www.lootdb.com/eq2/item/-1453163064 |
Ah ok, didn't know that. But you are right, there is no data for this. The ProfitUI persona window should show all data that was available at the time of its release without exception.
|
Doh!!!! I was thinking the inspect window not persona :(

Spell crit, bonus? I had figured it was just a stupid inconsistency.
Is this for when you have 100% spell crit, and thus still do more damage? Another ridiculous system in game mechanics. |

Spell crit is the % chance you have to have your spell crit. Crit Bonus adds % amount to your crit damage calculation. Lets say you made your crit check; you normally would of hit for 20, your crit calculation was 10 and your crit bonus is 2 then your total damage would be (10 * 2%) + 20. I could be wrong but that is how I've always understood it. |
I know, I'm just saying it's a way to still be able to do more damage IF you're already at the 100%. I didn't mean only when you're capped out.
There's lots of stats in the game that are thrown around too often (and too large of quantities) that they are becoming less meaningful. Get to 100% spell crit, so now what? Spell crit bonus! What happens what your spell crit bonus is capped in a few expansions? Well... time to max out spell double cast! After that? spell double damage! Getting off topic, and I'm not saying it's bad to have ways to increase your characters abilities, but it's a little ridiculous, IMHO, to have so many systems on top of each other. We'll end up with items with like 18 different blue textual objects. /rant off ;) |

However, if you look at your individual spell tooltips, each one says what the critical modifier is. |
Then why is reuse a stat, or casting speed? That logic is flawed. Though I remember reading somewhere the way they coded it made it lame for them to give dynamic data.....

+ mod and + crit need to be merged so they are just two stats. The game does not need +melee and +spell crit. They do that then reduce the amounts on items to balance it out. Then on top of that they switch over to a rating system like + piercing. All problems now solved!
