It may break after the last update. Just visit http://updater.pala.de and click launch, it will be restored automatically then.

Kaldran 04-20-2009 01:36 AM

Sounds like the keystore file got damaged. You may want to delete the file in
%appdata%\Sun\Java\Deployment\security

updater

I have completely uninstalled and reinstalleds java. And it still does the same error :(

Kaldran 04-20-2009 01:59 AM

Delete the files in
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\security

Allessia 04-20-2009 02:25 AM

updater

Ok I did that and I think it installed now, well atleast I have a icon. I right click it and tell it to run as administrator and it then says Exception thrown and a error box with this in it .....

Exception thrown while opening HSQLDB connection

java.sql.SQLException: File input/output error: java.io.IOException: org.hsqldb.HsqlException: Unexpected token:

I thought I had it for a minute :( I really do appreciate all this help btw. I do sooo miss my UI

updater

ok all of the error didnt post it wont copy and paste the rest

Kaldran 04-20-2009 03:45 AM

Reboot to make sure there is no other instance of the updater running. If the hsqldb still throws errors, choose "Reset all settings" from the Settings -> Updater menu within the updater.
Looks like something seriously damaged your file system. You may want to run checkdisk on your hard drive.

Kriiks 04-20-2009 05:42 AM

Getting exactly same error since yesterday :(

Kaldran 04-20-2009 05:59 AM

Always refer to exactly what error you have also. And please include the whole thrown exception as I am bad at guessing :nana:

Tested the updater on my pc at work which never had it installed before. Working as expected, so there is no general problem.

Allessia 04-20-2009 02:23 PM

You where right!!! I deleted the file. Rebooted and reset all settings and it is now installed!!! Thank you so much for your help and doing being so quick to reply!!! I really did miss my profit UI :D

Nelenarap 04-20-2009 03:44 PM

Getting the same error.

I've tried running it from the link provided above, and nothing. Looked for the AppData folder in the Robert subfolder of the Users directory and don't see it. Any ideas?

Penstar 04-20-2009 07:30 PM

I had the same error too, exactly. I followed Kaldran's link in the second post on this thread and it worked right away. No uninstalling, wiping, reinstalling needed. Very easy.

Thanks!

ProfessorE 04-21-2009 09:46 AM

I've read this thread and deleted all files from the /security folder as Kaldran mentioned. I also rebooted the computer. When attempting to open the AutoUpdater, I received:

CouldNotLoadArgumentException[ Could not load file/URL specified: C:\Documents and Settings\Christopher\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\26\59901d5a-774e8d42]

at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source)
at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

Now, I tried to find out how to reset the settings but was unsuccessful. That is my stumbling block. All assistance is deeply appreciated.

Kaldran 04-21-2009 10:10 AM

Thats because these are completely different errors. If it can't find its cached files anymore they got deleted. Usually happens after you update Java.
To fix this just launch it once from http://updater.pala.de

doctorno 04-21-2009 12:01 PM

I'm using Win XP and I get this msg:

I also tried to uninstall it so I could reinstall it through the link that you have provided but wouldn't let me uninstall it! :(

Kaldran 04-21-2009 12:09 PM

I guess this happens when you start it in the very same moment I upload a new file :P

Should work by now

Kaldran 04-21-2009 12:41 PM

If it starts up with an error about wrong signatures now, just launch it a few more times til it updates itself automatically.
I had to make some fundamental changes on startup procedures to make it more flexible. More about that Soon(tm) .. maybe :P
