Scroll-less chat windows for tabbed chat
 

Exactly what it says it is :D
The New chat window that has tabs, but without the scrollbar for the text.

In the previous version the Shift Page-up/Shift Page-Down was not working properly. This has been addressed and should now ,as the devs say, "Work as intended". :p

SOE decided it would be smart to make it impossible to change the background opacity with the slider for the chat window, this has been fixed and you can now adjust the background opacity for them.

... but 2 issues:

1. shift up and shift down does not move the text anymore.

2. when a "chat" shows up the backdrop no longer becomes active, thus darkening the way I have it set, it just stays clear.

Any chance of fixing these 2 issues?

i will look into both of them, but could you be a little more specific about #2, im not exactly understanding. im sorry for being stupid :confused:

As far as I could see, #2 doesn't function with tabbed chat, even with the default UI...

Yeah it works fine with the default window.

Basically it's like this:

when text appears in the chat display area it sets the window to however you have the mouseover settings set.

So, I have the backdrop set light for normal ... darker when chat is happening so I can see it better.

It has always worked for me and still does, except with this mod.

try the new version and see if that fixes it astro cat, if it doesn't let me know, i think it was related to the reason the scroll wouldnt work. and what you are saying is on all the others when there is a text sent it changes to the mouse over settings, but on this one it doesnt?

I have fixed this, redownload the window if you want to be able to use Shift Page-up/Shift Page-Down to scroll.

Ok everything works except for 1 part.

Mouseover Opacity for Backdrop

1. works when you take the mouse and mouseover
2. does not work when chatting appears in the chat area
3. Frame and overall Opacity still do work when chat appears in the chat area

This leads me to believe some part of the code that handles the Backdrop Opacity has been removed.

Any chance of checking it out?

As Itanius pointed out this is the same case in the default tabbed window, however....I believe i fixed it :D i will know for sure in about 5 minutes.

I do have one problem, not sure if its the mod.

I have 4 or 5 tabs. Sometimes when Im at tab 3 (fight), and go to tab 4 (tells) I see that its empty (there where text before) , the chat text is gone - this happends to all chats in the tabs. And I havnent deleted the text myself.

most likely it is a bug on sony's end seeing how many problems there are that everyone else is having. I cant effect tab #x and make the others a different way, all the tab windows are changed the same when i edit it, so i dont believe it is something from the window, probably just something from sony but i will try and look into it tonight.

unfortunately i havent had a chance to take a look at it, and today after im out of school i have to get together with a few other people to write an electrical system technical report, so that will probably waste my whole rest of the day :( , and wednesday i will be busy doing a job interview :D which will take a while so i dont think i will get a chance to look at it until thursday, however something you could do is see if you experience the same bug with the default chat window.

I'm having the same problem with the disappearing chat on background tabs. I'm not using this mod, though. I'm using a similar one that has the scrollbars on it. I think it's this one: http://www.eq2interface.com/download...fo.php?id=3281 by Deathbane27.

Unless all of you are making the same change that causes the problem, I'd go with the "It's SOE's fault" excuse. ;)

Well :) I have 8 chat windows :nana:

5 of them areTabbed, they all miss text.

3 of them are not tabbed, 1 of them are the default, not of these miss text.
