Quest update window?

You know when you have a quest for killing something... lets say Goblins. And then you kill a goblin... there's an invisible window in the center of your screen that pops up and says "You have recieved Quest credit for killing a Goblin Scout" Also it tells you where you are when you enter an area like "Claymore Plaza" etc...

Now I KNOW this is some sort of window, because when a message appears you can actually click and drag it around. The problem is, it's SO large and it IS clickable that when it's up, it can really be dangerous because it blocks so much of your screen. I have a bunch of Goblin quests and the other day we killed a large group of them in EL. The update window was up for nearly 5 minuites!!! Meanwhile we were pulling other stuff and I was having a real hard time targeting.

So, my questions are:
Is there any way to resize the quest update window?
Is there any way to speed up the updates?
and here's a banana for good measure: :nana:

There's at least 1 thread on making the window so you can click through it, and another on changing the duration that the window stays visible. It shouldn't take you too long to find either.

The XML file associated with it is: eq2ui_mainhud_onscreenmessage.xml

Hey Quib,
I tried searching before I posted and couldn't find anything. And I just tried searching again, but still had no luck. I even tried searching for the file name you mentioned. I still can't find it. Is there another name for the window I should search for?

it should be THIS thread

EDIT: using the command /onscreen_msg_speed_scale 1000
should make it fade almost instantly

Cool! That's what I was looking for! ThanX!

/onscreen_msg_speed_scale 1 (seems nothing changed)
/onscreen_msg_speed_scale 1000 (wooo. fade immeidately)
/onscreen_msg_speed_scale 0.001 (yeah, it works)

I think what I'll do is make 2 macros...

/onscreen_msg_speed_scale 1000 <--when I have too many updates and want to get rid of them
/onscreen_msg_speed_scale 1 <-- to change it back
