Back from the dead... Have some questions Regarding mod transfer.
 

Hey guys, I was a modder in eq1, I kept EgrasUI up and running when he had RL issues and had to leave. Ive been playing eq2 now for a year or so, and would really like to try and re code Egras (the seri fix) to work for EQ2, well, not all of it, but parts of it. Is this possible? One problem that im having (with reading code in EQ2) is that it all seems to be encoded, and I can't seem to UN code it. to even try to work with it. This is also a problem when Im trying to edit my UI settings files. They all come out encoded, and non of the programs I have will un code it. Can anyone help out with some ideas for my getting started?

the uisettings.ini are binary encoded but the UI dev is looking into making them text files. All UI files however are xml files and thus simple text files, there is no encoding.

KK figured out why it was encoding, for some reason I had a bugged Notepad ++ program, re DL'ed it and its working now.

Any idea if its possible to make an EQ1 UI work for EQ2? I havent done much, but so far I havent gotten it to work, just wondering if its something thats possible, therefore I should keep trying, or if I should just quit while Im ahead a few more dozen hours :)

The two UI's are nothing alike, the only thing you will be able to reuse is the image files.

kk Ill have to think about whether to continue or not, not sure if I want to be goin over all that code again... I miss my layout, but.... oye to re do it all I just dont know.
