Team Speak
How many of you are familiar with the program Team Speak. I was asked about a way we could all stay in contact should be actually decide to form a guild in EQ2. I know of a server me and some friends of mine use now for EQ, and Im sure if we do decide to give it a shot, we can use it. Just a suggestion though... :)
|
well I was going to keep this all on the down-low but since its been thrown out in the open now I guess we should just come right out and say it.
The guild thing is going to have to be private because most solid guilds shouldnt be over 60 members. This has even been stated by SOE because of the conditions they've setup for guilds. That said ;) thats why its been kinda hush hush on this site because of the HORDES of people that read here. I'm not going to say much more because certain things are in motion and I'm waiting to hear back from certain individuals ;) |
Anyone else get the feeling Esperant likes all that Cloak and Dagger stuff? ;)

Teamspeak is real nice, my husband and I use it. More him then me, but it's nifty. If anybody sets it up I would love to come and chat and play.
|
I am familiar with Teamspeak also....some of my guildies and myself use it to talk....so much easier than typing especially when you are about to die :)
|
We tend to use rogerwilco form fileplanet for the 56k'ers as it does'nt hog bandwith as TS, Gamevoice etc. Used it with SWG and many other multiplayer software
:) |
yeah, I personally go the Roger Wilco route as well. But its really disturbing to hear a mans voice come from a female woodelf let me tell ya.
|
 i've never done teamspeak or know how it works but sound great! :D

no seriously, can you imagine this? Just try...
you see this little woodelf and she turns to you and you hear this half drunken guy go "F***ing HEAL ME NOW G*D DA**IT". I personally could'nt even play at that point. I was crying / laughing / and dying at the same time in and out of game... it was just wrong. All wrong. But I'm glad to know you're not like that. |
I'll setup a Wilco for those wanting... that is of course ;) you get an invite. Such an elitest jerk I know :( I still love everyone here though. Some more than others :D

rogerwilco
Teamspeak Both programs are free TS has to have a server side software running. RW channel can be easily run from the main client download |
I and some of my friends use ventrilo. I have a 56k and get far better sound quality from ventrilo with out any lag issues. Well sometime i get some packetloss if people start talking when i have 2 accounts running and one or both are zoning.
|
We have found that ventrilo had issues with some multiplayer game such as Americas army, Medal of honor etc But i do agree the sound quality on ven and TS is far superior than with RW
|
How do you get team speak? :(
|
Personally I don't think I'll end up involved in your chat channel or guild so my opinion as of this point really becomes mostly irrelevant. However I'm also one of those annoying people who can't keep their mouth shut when they have a point to make, for this I apologise in advance.
You seem to be discounting Ventrilo as a possibility becasue you've had issues with two FPS games when EQ2 is clearly not a FPS game. Ventrilo however has worked fine for me and others i know on a 56k modem for both EQ and SWG. Admittedly the most we have ever had in our ventrilo server is 8 when playing those games. However I've also tested it on a pretty full WC3 vent server with no issues. Basically my argument comes down to disliking the fact people sound so strange and unclear on Roger Wilco. /rant off :D |
Blah, I offered Team Speak when I originally posted this, since I have a server set up already....therefore I don't use the other versions. RW is ok, never tried Vantrill.... err whatever.. So don't know how it runs with my machine, prolly fine like the rest. I'll track you guys down on whichever one.
Peace!! |
I wasnt discounting Ventrilo bud just telling of my findings Imo try all 3 see what works best :o
