Need Help Error Message With Vista
 

Everytime I run the Updater, it runs fine. But then when it goes to run EQ, it pops up a window that says

Failed to save config file:
Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\EQ2MAP
Updater\eq2map_config.cfg' is denied.

Anyone have any clue how to fix this?? Or what is causing is??

Vista's causing that. By default it prevents modification of files under the Program Files folder. You'll need to go into the UAC and security configurations and disable system file protection.

If you don't want to disable the UAC you could also right click the program and run it as an administrator.

^^^^ this will return you to the days of XP where anything that wants to can install programs in your machine(or run code) without you even knowing it did so

a fun thing to play around with if you have UAC working on your vista OS is to go to a site that you KNOW you got spyware/viruses from, and laugh as the page loads and you get the window popping up saying "So and so would like to run (insert name) on your computer, would you like to allow this?"

its hilarious, i deliberately google and yahoo for warez sites just to get a laugh now
