Upgraded to Vista 64 bit.. need help!!!
Well today I upgraded my computer to windows vista home premuim 64 bit.. I was under the impression this would improve my computers performance. Where that remains to be seen, I've had a nightmare sorting my system out. Having finally got my drivers working correctly, I've installed and patched eq2.
I was only able to do this by disabling user account control. I've been advised some time ago to download profit reborn to enhance my gaming experience but waited until I upgraded my os before doing this. My problems are: 1. I cant get eq2 map to work, The auto update version requires a file that isnt 64 bit compatable, so tried the manual version, this too dosent work. 2. Cannot get profit reborn to work, downloaded the folder into the ui folder unzipped and restarted eq2 and nothing... Its been a long and frustrating day, would appreciate any help! Please do not assume any technical know how or expertise on my part. Would appreciate any help in the most basic step by step form possible! |
On ProfitUI see the installation instructions. Same for manual EQ2MAP install.
Regarding the EQ2MAP updater, several people here are using it on 64bit Vista without issues. Post more information on the error you receive, nobody can help you like this. |
I am running Profit, EQ2Maps and POIFinder updaters just fine with no problems under Windows Vista 64-bit.

Got there eventuanlly but...
I just had to walk away from it all and come back to it.. eventually got them all working!
One thing that is concerning me is I cant get these programs to work, or patch properly with the user control security enabled. Is there a safe and easy way to do this, run all the programs without compromising security? |
right click the links to them and select to run them as administrator
