Still confused on how to get EQ2Map to work with another addon

I'm trying to install DrumsUI group window along with my already existing EQ2Map. My ini already has the EQ2Map stuff in it. I took the DrumsUI xml and put it in same directory as my EQ2Map and I took the Bars.dds and put it in eq2/UI/EQ2Map/DrumsUI/images/ as instructed by the author.

I loaded eq2 and I get eq2map but no drumsUI group window.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

From your explanation you did it incorrectly. You should have folder "eq2map" inside your UI directory (i understand you have it in other way).

If you run EQ2 Map updater, there is button Options. Click it and in that window you can select your UI. Works just fine for ProfitUI here.

what i have : Everquest II\UI\ProfitUI\eq2map\ and i think you should have some similar structure...

Unfortunately I have tried almost every possible combination of directories to put the dds file in and none of them seem to work so I think this DrumsUI must be either outdated or broken.

I have even tried it as the author intended by itself with EQ2map removed. It loads the UI but it doesn't link the dds file properly so it gets the white background.

Oh well so much for that

(edit) nm I got it working. I accidentally downloaded the archived version instead of the latest one :P

Good to hear you got it working. You have it set up correctly. And glad you figured out what you had done wrong.

The "EQ2MAP" folder can be a bit confusing.
If no cusom UI is found a folder named "EQ2MAP" is created by the updater.
But inside it or any other UI's there is a folder called "eq2map" to :)

So it can be like beerninja described? eq2map folder superior to custom UI folder?

The directory hierarchy is UI\<Custom>\eq2map

The possibly confusing bit is that, if the autoupdater is installing only itself (ie no other custom UI present) it by default names the custom ui folder EQ2MAP. So in that case you end up with: UI\EQ2MAP\eq2map
