The game uses a format called .DDS to store images for the game. You can get a plugin for PSP or PS or you can just convert them from DDS to JPG or whatever you want to use but will lose quality when doing that. Its best just to use the plugin so you can read and save them. They are posted in the DDS Modification section of the forum.

This is a good link to as it explains the Mip Maps and when you try to open a DDS file in Paint Shop Pro after you install the Plugins you are going to be promted to either say yes or no to Mip Maps. This post helps explain them.

Nvidia psp plugin
I also cannot get the plugin for Paintshop Pro to work. Everything I've read says to download the plugin and the "required dlls". Even Nvidia's site says that, but I cannot find "the required dlls".
Does anyone know what these dlls are so that I can just do a search and download them myself since nvidia seems to have pulled them from their site :grr: |
get adobe photoshop...it works with the nvidia plugin just fine :)
I used to use psp myself, and am very happy that i explored adobe just to see what all the fuss was about. I uninstalled psp since then ________ MEDICAL MARIJUANA |
I've given up trying to work on DDSes in their native format. Transparancy doesn't show up correctly, and I'm forever getting odd, seemingly random shade changes when I save files. Instead I've taken to using DDS Converter 2 to convert DDSes into PNGs and vice versa. While it warns that PNGs aren't the most efficient intermediary (I think TGAs are) PNGs display transparancy correctly in Photoshop CS, so they're far easier to work with.
