getting errors during the map update

Error Downloaded file:
icons.****.******.xml
the operation timed out

that is with a few files it tried to download. and the when i click on open eq button i get this message

errors occured during updating, EQ2MAP may not work, do you stil wish to continue

I use Profit UI Reborn interface. what would be the operation top timed out during download. I know sometimes it will launch the game with no problem then sometimes i get the error when i launch the eq from the button.

Your internet connection is to slow some times, if it can't connect within 15 sec it trys to reconnect , if that to fails the download if flaged as failed.
If you allready has the file there is no problem running EQ2, but you get a warning :)

When i try to run the updater I get this error.

also tells me only 1 instance can be run at a time. I've removed the program and reinstalled it but with same results. Also I had this problem before I downloaded the newer version just a few minutes ago.

What version du you use, as this error has to be from 1.0.6.

I just downloaded 1.0.17 yesterday. Did I download the wrong one ?
The one that was on my computer before gave me the same error message and then I uninstalled it and downloaded what I thought was the new one.

If you pressed the download button on the download page you must have the right version "EQ2MAP-Updater-1.0.17-Setup.zip"

If you still get this error you must have an old install somewere.

Try to delete the EQ2Map Updater folder from your Program files folder.
If you have any shortcuts on you desktop delete them to :)

Then try to re-install again.

ok... my problem was I had 6 or 7 old versions loaded in memory. Thats why I kept getting the "Only one instant at a time can run error ". I deleted the old version and rebooted.
Got the new version up and running but it is not doing any of the new features. It looks like the first EQmap of old. I'm thinking it is not installed in the correct directory.
I'm using Fetish Nightfall too if that helps.

Gaythelus: When you installed the most recent version, did you go into the Options and set the directory path to your UI? Without that set, you won't be able to utilize EQ2Map unless you revert back to the default UI.

To see if you runnign the latest version , check title bar for version number.
In game you won't see any change from older version as there are none ;)
