Can We Improve Site Buttons?
 

Love the site overall but I gotta say you've got some of the most difficult to spot and read forum buttons I've ever seen.

I'd like to submit this sample as something to consider for a button update. Took me all of 5 min with Photshop's Hue/Saturation and Levels adjustments to tweak one of your existing buttons. I could batch proccess them all in about 15min :D

well its not like its top secret or anything, everyone has a theme selector at the bottom of the page. the dark one will eventually be the default. now if only i had a mib flashy thingy..

are you guys talking about the dark template?

Only reason I don't use that one, is when looking at new topics, it's kinda hard to tell which of the topic names are in bold, and which aren't ;)

*edit* Also I would like to add the Light Template is great how it is, hehe. Only thing I noticed, is in the dark template, there is a button under user names/avatar for if they are a template author. In light template, there is no button.

Thank you for your comments however I feel the buttons are fine and we only use a few of them in the forums. They have been used on eqinterface.com for about 2 years now. Thanks for your example though.

Like the others said in this thread you may like our dark style better.


Yes there is... you should see a folder icon under the authors name in the light template. Been that way since we opened.

The new dark style has been released and is the default style and if your not getting it either select it from the drop down at the bottom left of this site or clear your cookies and it should show up.

For some reason, at a glance I thought that was an e-mail button or something. :o

I use the black/gold theme, and it's great. :)

Hmm... I don't think the "dark" theme is dark enough, personally. But I guess that's so you can see this guy's question marks: :confused: :confused: :confused:

(Edit: Except that it's too dark to see that even. Darker please. :p)

Cool, dark style is much better IMO, well except for :confused: guy's questions marks :D

BTW, I've been lurking around the EQInterface site since its inception, just never posted much till now. My EQ1 mods were fairly modest tweaks :)
