EQ2 crash to desktop with eq2 map
 

I just installed the EQ2map today for the first time and not 10 mins after i login i crashed to desktop with a game client error.

Then happened again twice in 20 mins.


I never crashed once before this. I installed the auto patcher version from the download section here on this site.

what gives?

Not crashing here running only eq2map auto. What other interfaces do you have installed? Have you tried disabling eq2map to see if you stopped crashing?

Its prob not eq2map that's causing it.

I do not have any other UI mods on nor have i ever installed any. I have had this game since 2005 this is the first time i get a crash 3 times in 20 mins just after i install this, tis not a coincidence i can assure you.


How can I uninstall this clompletely to remove all of the files? withought screwing up my Ui settings?

In your EQ2 UI folder just remove the EQ2Map folder.
\EverQuest II\UI\EQ2Map

A bad Interface will only crash the game on startup. Are you crashing when you start the game or after awhile?

If its after awhile I would guess its a system problem (possibly memory), with all the maps and poi's eq2map loads eq2 will use up more memory then normal. Although you'd be the first to have this problem that I'm aware of.

Also your not keeping the eq2map auto updater open while eq2 is running are you? If you are you shouldn't do that.

Thats all I can think of atm. Maybe some others will have other ideas.

I get it after the game is started and running after a bit.


I use win xp pro and have plenty of memory my system can handle this UI mod just let's put it that way :)

I will try a few tweaks and possibly a reinstall of the EQ2 map.

Try doing a full system scan of the game files (through the launchpad).

I won't guarantee that will fix things for you, but it's worth a shot.

I recently (in the last week) had some CTD trouble after a windows update. Make sure your system drivers are up to date.
