hot bar location
 

is there away to turn the hotbars so that they are going up and down. I have been looking for a way to do it and i have not found any. I do miss that form playing wow for a year. it just takes up so much room when you have like 4 or 5 hot bars up. it would make it easier to have a couple on the side and the other on the bottom. if someone knows please let me know?

Vertical hotbars?
 

I desperately search for mod for a vertical hotbars to stop them wasting such precisious vertical space on my wide screen. Older mods posted in the forum (of year 2005) simply don't work on current client complaining about incompatibilities.

Game itself doesn't suggest anything useful about it, so anybody could help me fixing that thing SOE overlooked? Any suggestion is appreciated but explanation what XML code I need to add/change would suit the best.

It's not 'overlooked' you just have to resize them horizontally such that only 1 bar icon fits and then the rest will tile downwards and then tada, you have your vertical hotbar. The only time you'd have to mess with the ui file itself is if you wanted the spinner to appear on top instead of on the side.

Wow, I did play with resizing but even after 1000 years wouldn't come to idea of resizing it by both dimensions! :-) Thanks a lot for the hint.

It's also an interesting note about spinner. I find it usefull and always have it on side of current horisontal hotbar. Does it mean I won't have it on top of vertical bar? Will it disappear? Or just will ugly stretch along the long (vertical) side? Anyway, it doesn't matter much as far as general layout will be vertical.

I'm pretty sure (can't say I'm 'completely' sure, since I haven't been able to play for over a year and a half :eek::mad:) that the spinner will remain in the same location regardless if your hotbar is horizontal or vertical.

The spinner will be vertically in the middle to the left of the column of hotbuttons (ie centered on the line between the 5th and 6th button). If you want it at the top pointing left/right instead of up/down then you will have to play around in the UI file, but if you don't use it too often you can just hide it until you need it.
