Odd update problems
I have used EQ2MAP since V1 and have not yet encountered any issues. I am using XP Pro SP2 with .NET 2.0. I am currently located in Iraq and am using a VSat connection. Though this connection is not ideal, before yesterday it was working just fine at updating. I have upgraded to V1.0.15 to make sure that it was not just an outdated version causing an issue, and have tried a second install.
When I try to update, the first maps have the {'xxxxxx' is not a valid value for 'value'. 'value' should be between 'minimum' and 'maximum'} error message. After that the following updates have a timed out message. Any help figuring out what is going wrong would be greatly appreciated. |
Could you get a screenshot of the error message ?

According to this thread, someone else that had this issue pointed to his/her firewall as being a factor.

I am using ZoneAlarm and made sure that it was set to allow the program, removed it from the options and allowed it again and turned off the firewall. The errors have not been changed. I forgot to mention a third error that states that the file is in use by another program. Here are screens of each of the errors.

The Value error has to do whit a corrupt DB file, as download size is a negative value. "-1460"
Try delete the cache file in install dir. You must have connection as the info window is ok and the DB was downloaded (even if it seams to be corrupt) so i don't think it's the firewall. Does all files timeout ?? The downloader has a timout of 15 sec, is this to low for your connection ?? The "in use" error is harder :( some time it helps to restart the computer. |
