Ventrilo in Vista problem
 

Has anyone else had a problem with the auto updater for EQ2 maps which then auto runs EQ2 preventing ventrilo from working unless it is in the foreground. It seems to be leaving something running that is blocking hotkeys from getting to ventrilo unless vent is under the focus of the mouse. This seems to be only happening in Vista for a couple of us.

you need to run ventrilo as a administrator, or turn off UAC

ok maybe a lil necromancy heh... but...
I had the exact same problem and when the program is run as an admisistrator it works just fine. Just wanted to add a recent post to this problem since I just fixed this problem today.

I had the same problem, I fixed it by running Vent as an administrator (I do not use UAC) and I have a USB microphone. In the windows control panel under devices I selected the properties for my USB microhpone (not a usb headset, just a stand up microphone) and noticed an option called 'give application exclusive control' i turned this off, and it allowed me to use vent and eq2 in vista 64 at the same time.
