Maps Black..
I switched from a custom UI to default today, and installed EQ2Map, but now all my maps appear as if they are all unexplored?
What files determine the explored and unexplored areas? I'd really like my maps back to how they were, explored! I have not deleted anything. Any suggestions? TIA!! :) |
I have noticed that only my expansion maps went back to black. All my maps from the original content are strill fully revealed
|
Im having the same problem, every time I update the maps it resets my exploration and I cant see my map anymore. Really annoying
|
Same issue - any help appreciated.

Did you install it directly into the /default/ UI folder? Or did you make a new one just for EQ2Map?
|
Noticable
If you notice as you explore your black area's, they open up on the large amount scale. So if you spend maybe 10 minutes, you'll be able to see everything again. It's not that big of an issue ;)

Antonica black - deliberate?
I'm quite new to EQ2, and it's my first time in Antonica. I have EQ2MAP installed (auto updating). The map is black when it's fogged in Antonica, and worse, this black doesn't become translucent when my mouse is not on the map. My setting is to have a largely translucent map always open, and since this black is completely opaque, I can see less.
I'd like to know if this is normal, and if playing without EQ2MAP would show me a normal map. (I might test this later, but I'm asking just in case I get a quick reply.) Thanks! |
Yes, that is normal. Its referred to as fog of war and is enabled in certain zones by SOE to promote exploration.
|
In that case, I'll report the opaque black as a bug.
|
The fog of war has actually never been effected by the window's opacity settings. It is always completely opaque. I don't know whether that has always been intentional or not, but it has always been that way.

The opaque is the stuff you cannot see through until it is explored. ei: Antonica and Common Lands. It is the transparent black that is used in cities. |
