Master Volume Resetting?

Hi!

Every time I swap characters, the master volume in game resets down to zero. The only way this doesn't happen is if I tell the game to go back to the default UI. I'll swap characters in default ui, no problem. The moment I reload darq and swap characters, the volume goes to zero again.

The master volume in eq2_default is set at 50. Is there anything in Darqui that would potentially cause the master volume to reset to zero? Is there some override I'm not finding?

Not a game breaking thing by any means, I just don't want to have to reset to a completely blank slate, if at all possible.

Thanks!!

There is a slidebar on the Experience window that should only be reporting your custom value when you log in or change characters. In your main EverQuest II folder there is another file similar to eq2_default.ini called eq2_recent.ini. Open that in Notepad and search for master_volume. This will be the current value that all of your characters use. Try changing that to 0.500000 and it should stick between sessions and between characters. Please post again if it's still getting reset.

Hi again! Thanks for your response.

I edited the eq2_recent like you suggested and it worked when I logged in afterwards, there was no changing of volume when I switched characters. However, when I logged back in today, the volume reset back down to zero, and the eq2_recent file states zero again under the master volume.

Check for updates with the utility then scroll down to Experience, right-click and choose "Use game default." Also find Nav Bar, right-click and choose "Delete." Restart the game and see if the master volume continues to reset.

I made copies of my files and switched to Use Game Default and deleted the Nav Bar file. I logged in, switched between characters, and the volume stays put when I switch characters.

Removed the setting to use the default on the Experience bar and the volume started resetting again.

Went back to Use Game Default on Experience and reinstated my copy of Nav Bar again, volume was fine.

I probably did something useless here, but I'm just trying to cover more bases so there's less work on your end. Thank you. :)

Which size are you using for the Experience window -- normal, large or x-large?

Just the normal size!
