portable Sales Log

Can someone make a mod that will show the sales log (what you see when you go to your house) in a window you can use in any zone. That would be very useful information to have on hand when making stocking decisions.

Nope, there's no way to grab that data other than using the window.

One thing to try: /show_window Inventory.Store It just MIGHT still show the log from your last session.

If not, you're stuck with copy -> paste into Notepad (if that's even supported for that window, I don't recall), or taking screenshots to keep records. :/

Now I don't have any experience with doing this myself, but there are mods out there that pull info from text files, and since your store log is saved in a text file in the eq2 directory, I don't see why this wouldn't be possible. The only down side is that it's character specific, so it would be limited to a single character's store log. Still, I think it's worth taking a look at doing it.

Oh, right, it saves your sales log to a text file now. Silly me. :o

Should just be able to /show_window Inventory.HTML and point it to the log file.

Another thought... Since the store log has been recording since January, some people's lists are bound to be insanely long. :eek: Is there any way of limiting it to display the last X number of lines from the text file?

Nope. Just crop the file occasionally.

Ok, next question, How do I point /show_window Inventory.HTML to my sales log?

Good question, I've never bothered messing with the html window. However, I did manage to come up with this little piece. I based it off of the Milquetowst Inventory Window. It's pretty cramped because of the limited horizontal space of the inventory window, but the log is there... In order to get it to work with your log you need to do a search in the code for "Kithicor" and change that and the player name to your server and name so that it will point to the correct text file.

This does have limitations... will only access the specified character's log reguardless of which cahracter is logged on, and it will only show the items sold as of the last time you signed off. So, anything you sell while logged on will not show up until you sign on again.

I am working on putting a sales log page into the knowlege window to have more room, but I'm running into issues adding an additional button to that one. I may just change them all to tabs.

If anyone knows if and how I can add a fifth button to the knowlege window, I'd love to hear about it. Also if there is anyway to get the sales log to be updateable while logged in....... (I'm sceptical about that one.)
