so if i have a previous version of the thorui and the auto updater i need to redownload the ui and reinstall it ? why have an auto-updater ?

What gave you that idea?
Not sure what you're replying to but no...

The Auto Updater not only automatically updates itself but it does indeed auto update the UI files as stated.

Only on very rare occasions would you need to delete the thorui folder within the ui directory. The only reason its recommended to delete the folder is because it almost always fixes the issue; it also saves us time troubleshooting something that doesn't require it...

Note: Some corruptions are held within your window placements file. (Especially if you use another UI then switch to the ThorUI as your previous UI may have had special information saved within the file that is no longer needed.)
