any news on the ui editing program?

Is it still comming out this week or they pushing it back till next?

Mythgarr 10-28-2004 11:08 PM

Last they posted (oh - btw, you can take me out of any remaining drawings. I'm already in beta...) it was still slated for this week. Of course, as with all things beta (and SOE) this is subject to change.

guice 10-29-2004 01:14 AM

No news on it. I posted a 'reminder' post on the original thread where we were told about the UI tool.

Course, the dev might feel like I'm pinning him to the wall, but hopefully he'll understand that the lack of news implies things are going as planned in this case.

Pure 10-29-2004 12:43 PM

Just replied in the same thread from Guice.
I am hoping something can be available soon. If not time will tell and as we learned the first interface we will learn this and the possibilities will be endless.
So far I love how three hotbutton bars can be set on screen and the cast from spellbook is cool also.

insomniac 10-29-2004 01:13 PM

the party thread is here for those that want to chime in. just dont midlessly bump it or it'll get locked.

edit: i really wish the devs would come here. i'm sure we have more questions for them than anyone else.

Findarato 10-29-2004 01:44 PM

Findarato bumped ;)

Hmm - Kudane or Dolby?

Anyone have some inside info they are holding out on :D

Just guessing and assuming that many games have Game Editors sent at Release.
BUT!
Could it be they will have this EQ2 UI Tool inside the release disks

Findarato 11-05-2004 11:25 PM

I am going to agree, its probably going to come with the release of the game.

Liandra 11-08-2004 12:51 PM

anything usefull on them at all?

or just crappy movies we have all seen already?

Averad 11-12-2004 12:22 PM

Has Sony commented on the UI program at all?

Ellyana 11-12-2004 12:34 PM

Someone PM the dev that posted about the tool.. I cant remember the name or i would.

insomniac 11-12-2004 03:49 PM

Gallenite, and i dont think they respond to PMs well. E-mails apperently *cough*kudane*cough* can get things done...

Averad 11-12-2004 04:34 PM

It would be ncie to get a final answer on this :( BIG K GO GET EM :)

The standard interface is just getting to me even with the silver one in the download section it just feels funny.

Averad 11-14-2004 03:14 PM

Any update on this?

I forgot, i still have the evidence.

I was originally going to express my joy in picture form, but never got around to posting it anywhere :D

Averad 11-16-2004 12:12 PM

Are they refusing to say anything about it? Is there still a open thread over at everquest2.com about it?

Dalaene 11-16-2004 11:27 PM

UIBuilder.zip

Rerun your EQ2 launcher. I got a "UIBuilder.zip" file this evening from it. :)

SOE still has a little work to do.

but so far works similar to the UI builder I was working with in EQ1 :-)

orion7_11 11-17-2004 12:59 AM

heh yeah i get the same too...however reading the .doc on the last page they threw in a disclaimer =)

"There are very likely lots of bugs and undocumented features. Up until now, UIBuilder has primarily been an internal development tool."

All is well...definitly better than nothing. =)

Jethal 11-17-2004 01:56 AM

umm.. interesting program.. but certainly not what i was hoping for /sigh.
was really hoping for a WYSIWYG of higher quality, or at least to be able to load our UI's continuously to check our work, like in EQ1

UI Builder

Two things... First, the .DOC file is unreadable and when I try and open the uibuilder program it does nothing at all not even an error message. Ie deleted the .zip file, and repatched thinking it was a bad version, but when I retried, same thing. I can get the .DOC file to load only if I use a dos window to open edit.exe and load it raw, but its 90% garbled and can only make out maybe 10 words.

Any one know if there is an external download link for the ui builder?

Imadruid 11-22-2004 10:22 AM

Have you sed Wordpad already?

I assume you have tried using Wordpad to open the DOC file. It works fine for me. You may want to unzip your UIBuilder to another location. You may have disk corruption where the file ended up. You can also go to Microsoft's site and download a 97/2000 Word viewer. I have used that as well, hoping I would get some images, but no images were found.
