Issue with NPC casting bar and threat window - need help
 

What am I doing wrong? Why does my NPC casting bar not list the name of the spell they are casting?

The casting bar overlay is hosted on the target's target panel which is not one of the selected options in your screenshot. I'll see if I can make the help text more explicit about this.

Question is there is an option to make the NPC casting bar bigger or more visible? or have it as its own element?

If you resize the standalone Casting Bar vertically, you'll see there is an NPC casting bar below it. You can resize it by casting a long spell such as Call to Home, then move your character before it finishes casting. Or you can use the window manager to show a resizable "ghost" of the casting bar on the screen. There's plenty of info on the Casting Bar help page about this.

Also if you'd like to get into more detail about NPC spellcasts, there is the NPC Spell Monitor which watches and reports on spells cast in combat in real time. Use the icon on the XP bar to open the NPC Spell Monitor, or press [Shift+Ctrl+T].
