2 New Experimental Maps

Ok, I've added Gobblerocks Hideout and Condemned Catacombs. They use the same floor plans as Serpent Sewer and The Down Below, respectively, but with stuff blocking off some of the tunnels limiting the areas you can get to.

I used some tricky OnEvents to make these work; I need people to visit Serpent Sewer and The Down Below and make sure those zones still work properly, then visit Gobblerocks Hideout and Condemned Catacombs to make sure they don't have the Serpent Sewer/The Down Below POIs (they should be blank at the moment, until people submit POIs for these zones).

Quib, Where or how do we get these experemental maps?

Run the auto-updater, I pushed them live even though they're experimental. They don't crash/break EQ2 so they're safe enough... =D

Thanks Quib :)
Will keep you posted on the testing :)

Down Below has it's PoI's and Condemed Catacombs doesn't so those two look good :)

Update I may have spoken too soon, odd thing happened, I zoned into the Crow's Resting place in the Downbelow and now the Down Below has no PoI Icons :). Going to zone out to a normal zone and back into the Down Below.

Ok zoning out from Down Below to Eldar Grove and back in returned Down Below's PoI's gonna make that run again and see if I can repeat it.

Yes it was repeated, Zoning from Down Below to Crows Resting Place, and back to Down Below caused Down Below to not have any PoI's.

Also duplicated the disappearing PoI's zoning from Down Below to Vermins Snye and back to Down Below, doing that also makes Down Below lose it's PoI's.

Hope that this all helps.

It does, I didn't forsee this bug at all. Gonna see if something similar occurs with Serpent Sewer, if not, I'll head to Qeynos to get this problem fixed.

99% sure I've got this working as intended now. Would be nice to have someone stop by any of the following zoens and make sure they work properly:
The Serpent Sewer
The Down Below
Gobblerock's Hideout (there will only be 3 POIs)
Condemned Catacombs (there will be no POIs on the map in-game)

Ok Quib, I went back in earlier today, and all seems to be working correctly. I didn't lose my Downbelow PoI's when zoning into either Crow's Resting Place, and Vermins Snye. :) Everything worked fine, and when zoning into the Condemed Catacombs I did not see any PoI's which is good as I believe there aren't any submitted for CC yet.

So technically we could do the same thing as DB and CC, also SS and GH, for zones like the Qeynos Citizen Instanced which is the same as the Crows Resting Place zone, correct?

Unfortunately, I don't believe so. The way I can have the two different POI sets for DB/CC and SS/GH is because CC and GH have a fog layer, and I made the map window check for the fog to decide which POI set to show. Unless Qeynos Citizen Instanced has fog (Crows Resting Place does not), there's no way to tell the two zones apart.

Ahha Ok :) Makes sense... :)

Quib I added some PoI's for the Condemed Catacombs. Along with the Mob and Named PoI's I indicated where the Zone in / out is, and what passages are blocked (for the blocked passages I used LOC PoI's The 4 blocked passages I added actually block off 2 of the Rooms that appear on the DB/CC map. Not sure if I should add a PoI in those rooms saying Room Not Accessable? What do you all think, or is the Blocked Passage Locations good enough?

Quib 03-25-2005 09:36 PM

I think the blocked passage POIs are enough. I might add some custom icons to the underlays for GH and CC to more clearly mark the dead-ends, but that's not a priority at the moment.

Thank You Quib, because for me to add the Room Not Accessable LOC PoI would have meant I would have had to float so to speak some Bogus Coordinates till I got one to stick in the Non Accessabe Rooms.
I agree that the Blocked Passage says it all, and I did add in each Description which direction it was blocked.
