Non-auto-updater EQ2Map?

I love EQ2Map.

I used the manual updater because I *really* don't want to install .NET
The manual updater doesn't work anymore :(

Is there *any* way to use the EQ2Map plugin and manually download the
map files? I was under the impression that the actual map files are static,
so other than the 'convenience' of auto-updating, I don't understand why
.NET is required.

Any enlightenment you can toss my way would be greatly appreciated.

The manual EQ2MAP download should work ok, why are you saying it doesn't work?

Landiin - Thanks! I'll take a look at the Henchman.

gm9 - You get a longer answer :P
I'm saying it (the manual updater) doesn't work because I get a big red
splash in the display area that says:

ATTENTION:
This version of EQ2MAP updater is no longer supported due to the new expansion and will not work. Please click here to download the most recent version.

I also get a nice popup window full of errors:

That in not the manual version but a very old Auto Updater.
