what should the start and destination files be?
 

the updater runs and finds all the maps but will not load the game. if i load it from the eq2 icon on desktop, the maps are not there.
C:\Program Files (x86)\EQ2MAP Updater" is the start in location.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EQ2MAP Updater\EQ2MAP_Updater.exe" is the target location. what should be in these?

Don't change them.
Open Everquest II Lancher
In the lower left corner is a button Advanced Tools
In the menu select Open Game Directory
This is your path to the game.
Open the EQ2MAP Updater
Press Options
Press the Browse button at Everquest 2 Installation Folder
Press Browse Directories
Browse to the same path as above and select the Everquest2.exe file.
Done

"C:\Users\Public\Sony Online Entertainment\Installed Games\EverQuest II". this is where the game loads from but when i run the updater it says run it as admin or move my eq2 installation to an unrestricted path. running as admin it gets to auto launch but never goes anywhere. if i dont let it go to auto load it gives errors......error accessing path:/eq2ui_skininfo.xml. no updated files,no new files update done.

That folder should be unrestricted , have not seen this before.
Maybe antivirus?

found the correct file for eq2 exe by right clicking the eq2 icon on the desktop and finding file location. browsed using eq2 updater and success. i now have the new maps.
