!!! - TABLETS II BETA -

The beginning of Tablets for Everquest II!!
A sleek and functional UI..
6 Colors to choose from.. Grey, Blue, Green, Cyan, Purple and Red..
(other 2 colors can be seen in beta thread)
Fantasy set only availible in Grey for now.. (Marble Texture by T. King)

ChatWindow:
Added a minimize/restore button to titlebar..
Also added a layout button there.. Lets you remove chatinput, scroll, or both..
When title bar is hidden click upper right of chat area to change layout..
Scrollbars and Channel Button stays hidden when faded and chat text is updated..
-Default-Like chat window is in mods folder
-Default-Like with static inner frames also there

MapWindow:
Added a minimize/restore button here too!
Added button to resize map window to upper right hand corner of map display.. changes sizes between fullsize, 2/3 and 1/3 sizes..
Removed ability to close window with Escape..
*To move window when resized you have to hit the reset map location button in the upper left hand side of map display and grab the titlebar..

Player Window:
Has Health & Power readout and percentages..
Target Window:
Has Percentage readout..
Exp. Window:
Has 10ths of a percent readout..

Target Window:
Has health % readout...
Also no longer disappears when you don't have a target..
*Press-Alt-T to open target Window first time..

Compass:
Location indicators that turn color to indicate what the Loc Numbers will do..
If the indicator is red the number will decrease, green increase, black stay the same..
The indicator on the left is for the far left loc number, and the one on the right is the far right..

Hotkeys:
Bank selector turns on/off with the frame..
If you use a frame on the hotkeys there is a button on the upperleft corner of the window frame...
Labels can be turned on and off by clicking the bank number..
Mods in mod folder:
-Hotkeys with labels off
-Compressed Hotkeys (~2/3 size)
-Compressed Hotkeys labels off

Bags:
Added a minimize/restore button here..
Added a layout button that toggles between 4x5, 2x10, 10x2..
-Compressed Bag (~2/3 size) in mods folder

StatBars:
Are now the letterbox frame.. If you shrink or enlarge the letterbox the will move with it..

If you use full screen the statbars disappear..

*[i]To open them you have to type or macro (case-sensitive and no quote marks):
"/show_window MainHUD.StatBar" for Top Stat Bar
"/show_window MainHUD.StatBar2" for Bottom Stat Bar
*To Move them grab the right or left edge..
*They will not save their location on saving.. Only way to change their opening location is by editing it in UIBuilder..

ZoneLoc:
"/show_window MainHUD.ZoneLoc" for little window that displays zonename

*Will not save its location on saving.. Only way to change opening location is by editing it in UIBuilder..

1. Make a folder named TabletsII in your EQ2/UI Folder
2. Unzip archive to TabletsII Folder..
3. Open TabletsII Folder
4. Right-Click one of the images folders(eg. images_blue), then Right-click rename
5. Rename it to Images
6. Open an empty Notepad and cut and paste code below into it

cl_ui_subdir UI/

7. Save As EQ2.INI in your main EQ2 Folder
8. Load EQ2 and Login.. The UI should appear

Known Issues

If you log out with minimzed windows it will save there location there and set their size to their minimum upon loging in.. Really annoying on chat windows.. Sorry no way to fix it..

Layouts for the chat/bag windows will not save on logout..

Chat windows: I include the 3 other layouts in the mods folder so you can choose what their default layout is..
Bag windows: I will do add other layouts later

Map will always revert to the largest size when logging in..

The Extra Windows that you open with a /Show_Window command will not save there location upon logging out..

I used this last night, and I have to congratulate you on a job well done!

The bugs from the pre-beta preview that I experienced are gone, namely that switching to tradeskill XP didn't work and the bag/inventory window sizing problem.

There remain some windows, such as the map, bank, and a few others that aren't "skinned" and retain the default interface borders, etc, but I'm sure those will switch styles in time.

Thank you very much for your effort. I *hated* the default interface and just wanted something slick and functional, and this has it in spades.

I would personally like to see the 3/4 size hotbars (no labels, no selectors) added as well as the Arial font, but since those are available as individual pieces, I'm content in the meantime to mix and match.

I just uploaded a new version to the downloads section. Will be available soon. It got too big to attach.
Fixed a couple bugs and skinned a few more windows..
3 new colors Cyan, Red, Green.

EQ1 was better when it came to mix n match :)
I hope to add a lot of mods to the UI over time.
Right now I'm still working on the actual skinning and gathering ideas/suggestions so keep them coming..

having some trouble with the shared slots in the bank window. I cant pickup or put anything in the shared slots. Also the merchant window if i click on the "cost" column to rearrange by price the displayed price slides out of view to the right in the window.

I've been looking at the Tablets II Beta 2 all night, but I found if the XP goes above 100% such as Getting all the way through Level 6 and needing Citizenship at Level 7 the 121% into Level get's cut off.

Uploaded a new version fixed those two bugs..

Messed around with chatwindow some more.. Scrollbar and chat channel button stay transparent with rest of window when being spoken too..

Added new Player and Target Windows: (Upper Left Corner)
Those and Experience window can be resized to get rid of % readout.

Changed the Experience window.. The % readout now has a transparent background.. I also made it's max width 2 pixels shorter to be the same width as new player, target, and 6x2 hotkey windows..

needing some help getting it to work i've installed it to a folder in the ui folder and made a eq2.ini but what do i change the folder too , example : say i wanted the green skin what do i call the folder ?

cos the install readme in the download section isn't helpful

tried changing the folder from images_green to

Sorry my fault.. a Typo then a copy and paste, haste makes waste..
Like Deathbane pointed out it should be Images..
Fixed the instructions :)

i used your ui's on old world eq since day one..i like your work makes things sleek and useable....but im a moron lol...ok


made a folder in ui called "grey"
installed the images_grey into folder..renamed it "images"
didnt do the eq-ini file you said to do because i wasnt sure what you meant..
logged into game typed /loadui folder i created was there... looked good...so far....options window of the eq2box(you renamed "tablets") wouldnt open everything else would...


please help,

ok i read the help forum on eq2interface and did what i interpreted as correct (hah) i guess my dragging knuckles and bulging forehead just cant comprehend this stuff hehe

anyway i added the eq2.ini and yet again when zoning it crashed me to desktop.....hep meh

Start over from scratch. Delete the folders and .ini you made. Then follow those directions from No. 1 again.

And to answer your question.. If it was in a folder named grey you would change the line "cl_ui_skinname TabletsII " to "cl_ui_skinname grey"..

cl_ui_skinname is actually the folder name of skin not the name of the skin..
cl_ui_subdir tells eq2 where to look for the folder..

Exp Bar Issue
 
Using V3 Everthing (blue)is Ok Except the tradeskill exp bar.

This is weird, the exp bar seems to be coded to present exp. remaining to level as opposed to exp. torward lvl. There is no progress bar shown ,only the % value at the end of the bar.

Even Weider.. The % value is stuck at 18%. I will try and explain this. Doing trade skills...real exp torward teh next level is ...say 86%..make a widget..V3 shows 18%..Make another widget..Exp shows 18.8%, make another Exp shows 18.6%, adn so on til I get to 18% again and the same countdown starts over..18.8, 18.6, 18.4

Regular Exp seems to be functioning properly.

Nice UI, I like plain, straight forward, with adaquate size for the player and exp bars. Good Work

Love the UI .. one little thing I noticed .. on the concentration bar 4th one is yellow .. rest are a blue ... that and the xp bar thats been mentioned


one request .. get min/max on the playerwindow.. would like that myself :)

This is actually a really fun UI, but theres a couple bugs and suggestions i'd like to post.

Bugs:
Many of your text fields are too small and cause problems. Whenever Y experience gets to 3 digits its cut off, and whenever B exp gets to 2 digits it gets cut off and pushed up. In the bank window there seems to only be 1 or 2 digits for coins the rest get cut off. Only 1 digit seems to show in copper. I'm guessing ther emight be more places like this as well.. Check your text fields.

Suggestions:
Would it be possible to get a version with a smaller hotbar? That thing is so big its hard to fit it in.

I noticed something not sure if anyone else noticed it. You have the option to change the exp bar you see from regular exp to tradeskill exp. I like it to be tradeskill exp when I am tradeskilling so i don't have to keep looking in the person screen. But I noticed with this UI when I right click on the reg exp bar and select show tradeskill exp it shows a bar but that's it no exp for it nada. Thanks!

I just uploaded beta 4..



I added 2 StatBars.. To open them you have to type or macro (case-sensitive):
/show_window MainHUD.StatBar (Upper Stat Bar)
/show_window MainHUD.StatBar2 (Lower Stat Bar)

Refined the player, group, and exp window some more..
Skinned a few more windows..
Added a hotkey thats about 3/4s the size look in the mods folder..

Known issues:
Experience Window:
Can't resize from the right side of window.. Can't figure out why..
Tradeskill Current Experience label is not functioning correctly.. I believe it's a bug with EQII.. Not the UI.. When the fix the bug the label should appear and be functioning correctly..

Statbars:
Can't move down only up.. I think this is a bug with the way EQII handles player made windows.. Dunno how to fix.. Statbars are setup upon opening for 1024x768, with default letterbox.. They are resizeable in game but can only be moved up.. Also the location and size of window will NOT be save when you log..If you do need to resize move in game you have to grab the far right of the bar..

What I'm trying to say is Move&Resize them in UIBuilder instead..

Coin Values getting cut off.. I'm looking into this..

I think there's still a bug with the Tradeskill Current Exp label not updating.. 18% is what I had it set in UIBuilder for testing purposes.. Beta_4 won't display any value until it's fixed then it should appear.. Also the progress bar will be there again..

Mix/Max what? Concentration (ie 3/5)?
