Need a copy of uibuilder.

Call me crazy but i think i deleted my uibuilder .. is there anyplace to download it?

Dolby 02-02-2005 02:04 AM

The patcher should auto download the uibuilder.zip into your root EQ2 folder if its missing.

Killarny 02-02-2005 02:06 AM

The 01 Feb patch deleted the uibuilder.zip file from our installations, along with some test server files.

I looked into my patch logs after noticing that my uibuilder was mysteriously missing. :(

you know, there are better places to store files....

Humudce 02-02-2005 02:30 AM

Anyone seen any post on why they removed the UIBuilder.zip and the Test Server files? Or was that a a mistake in today's patch? I backed up my UIBuilder.zip file a long time ago. So I still have it, and I launch it outside of the Sony folder so nothing that I use got deleted.

On a side note, if you had already put your Test launchpad in a totally separate folder outside the EQ2 install directory and run it from there, this issue doesn't affect you.

that was about the test directory.. prolly same thing for ui builder.. "oops"

Deathbane27 02-02-2005 03:06 AM

Gar... they're bringing the Test server down for an update as we speak, but they still haven't put TestEQ2.exe back on the patcher! I won't be able to log in. :(

insomniac 02-02-2005 03:34 AM

uibuilder.zip

WTF were they thinking, does it come back if you install of the DVDs?

Humudce 02-02-2005 12:46 PM

I believe the UIBuilder.zip was a download a couple of weeks after they released the game, because of threads on their boards promising that we would have a UIBuilder during the Beta. So I don't think the file is on the DVD, LoL but the Beta Manual is on the DVD... Go Figure....

Drumstix42 02-02-2005 02:27 PM

Truth of reality... things just plain don't make sense a lot of the time :D

Dolby 02-02-2005 02:50 PM

The Uibuilder.zip is now in the dev tools section of the downloads area. :)

EQ2 UI XML isn't any harder to work with in notepad than html is, you just have to scroll left and right a little more I suppose. I can't even run UIBuilder on any of my computers and have been getting by with notepad just fine; the learning curve for understanding the basic properties was probably just a day or two longer.

You should give it a shot, XML made in notepad is usually much more pixel-perfect than what UIBuilder spits out.

Only downside of not using a WYSIWYG editor when one is present, is when positioning stuff. I mean you can use simple math, but when placing stuff the first time, it can be a paing having to totally restart EQ2 each time.

Yes. Yes it can. I usually bypass the launchpad when I'm testing mods. (Yeah, yeah, I still have no idea how the UIBuilder works. I do all my work in notepad.)

Drumstix42 02-12-2005 11:04 PM

I believe the UIBuild was put back in, whenever the last patch was. I just noticed it was in my folder again
