* Hotbars now sizeable and have been tidied up.
* Raid window can now have the raid group titles removed and it will compact itself.
* Complex shader now a series of buttons ranging from -1 to 300 enabling setting to be saved.

* Fixed scrollbars in Quest Journal.
* The Move and Close Buttons in bags now only show on mouse over.
* Fixed text being cut off on casting bar.
* The 'Find' button in your store now works again.

* Better looking Journal window
* Better looking Merchant window
* Fixed black screen issue
* Fixed bad eq2.ini file
* Fixed joining narperium chat channel!

Installation Instructions:
1. Remove older versions.
2. Unzip to your everquest2 folder.
3. If you have not used profitUI before, start by using the included eq2uisettings ini file. (Rename to match your server and player names). Only 1280x1024 at the moment.
4. Copy or re-run eq2map updater.

Changes:
* New Player window (see screen shot) I use this to keep my eye on the lower part of the screen - I purely use the top part for information. Press ALT+U to see this.
* New look Clock and Casting windows.
* Compass Fixed (North points North again!)
* Removed the Quickbar (manastone,rings etc) - there is no need for this as most items can now be added to hotbars. You will have to go to settings and set the alarm duration to 0 to stop the popup message appearing.

Known issues:
* Lower stat bar no longer showing any text - I have no idea why.
* The Find button in store has been removed as when it's there none of the tabs work. Other UI's have this problem.
* Target effects only show if you use con_version 1 (click little box on target window to switch or type /con_version 1)
This is by design, SOE only want you to use con_version 1 it would seem.

To be done:
* Tradeskill window back to the way I had it.
* Find a way to redo the 1 minute manastone timer - need to find out how to activate an item from the hotbar/inventory.
* Fix the Find button in the store window.
* Update the look of Broker and Journal windows.

My time is very limited lately so if anyone can help solve these issues or even just post eq2_uisettings.ini files for the other resolutions it would really help me.

is there by any chance of including a txt file of some sort on how to get the mana/horse/l.ring/r.ring to work properly either posted here or included with the ui. The only info that i saw was from a very old version and not too sure if it is done the same way or not.....

Thank you very much for the update. Sadly, I just can't seem to get it to work. Keep getting the blank screen on load and then crash. :( If I remove the UI and go with default, no crash, no issues. I was really spoiled with this hehe. Still say its the best one out there

I have no answer to this.

I tested it on 2 machines here with fresh install of the UI with no problems.

well i kinda enjoyed the idea of having that mini bar for those items. I guess i just have to get by by filling my main hotbars with more :D.

I had this issue too, until I realized I forgot to run the EQ2MAP updater. Once I ran and re-downloaded all the maps, I was able to run without issue.

Just create a new hotbar and have it floating somewhere - the hotbars can be resized to suit, and to be honest with all the new activatbles it's much better.

Now we dont have to equip manastone/horse to use/call them :)

I know it's easy to just jump in and play - but people write instructions for a reason...

So I ran the updater, but trying to remember "when" I ran it (maybe not at correct time). I'll give it a shot tonight. *crosses fingers*. Quite honestly, I don't want to use any other interface but this one

So Profit...any plans in the future of making a 1600x1200 version of the UI? I use it anyway, but always hopeful :)

I can only design for maximum 1280x1024 as this is the max my monitor can go to.

I'm afraid it'll have to be someone else that does that.

No worries, still works in 1600x1200, just leaves some spaces (nothing a little stretching can't fix). If I can ever figure out how to use the UI Tool, I'd be happy to make the modification (giving you 100% credit)

Never been to the arena and don't plan on.

All I can suggest is you press ALT+X to bring back the window.

I sort of messed up the eq2.ini file and the zip, so expect another update today.

eq2.ini should have read:

Something in the 1.8a download is causing my Eq2 to crash. I click Play, then you hear the music but its all black and crashes to desktop.

Brand new xp install, 0 custom ui's . If I delete eq2.ini, everything is fine. If I have it use Profit18, crashes after play.

I then made a folder called Crashme. Made the eq2.ini map to that, click play and its fine. So cusom ui's will work, just something is wrong somewhere.

I'm going to start taking 1 file after another from 1.8a and copying them seperately to see what file is causing the crash.

The file mainhud.map is causing my crash. Like I said before, I just reformatted my computer etc etc. If I delete mainhud.map, eq2 loads. No idea why this is happening. Back to 1.7 for now :D

This works a treat.
I was able to get my lower stat bar to work. I had to right-click on that portion of the screen and change the Frames setting under Window Settings and my stats appeared down there. :)

Not sure IF I need to make changes to the EQ2.ini file since you had a mistake in the one I used, but I notice nothing wrong? Compass works, etc. Alt-U is also a nice addition, thank you!

Only thing I miss is the store search feature, but I am sure that will be fixed soon.

Never installed it at all.

So fresh eq2 installation here adn still.. black screen and crash

I just love your UI and everything works so wonderfully.
Except only one small issue...
From some point - I guess it was from 1.7, I can't see class names in my groupmember window.
I see the character's name, level but only not class names.
I kinda liked the idea of seeing informations of group members without /who or inspecting, so I find it a little discomforting.
Is there anything I can do about it?

On the window options for the grp window, have it show frame and titlebar.

fresh installed profit 1.8b. Still having the same issues with fonts. I took some screen shots for you to take a look. Not sure if im the only one having this issue or not.

Here is a shot with smooth fonts on

and here is a shot with them off

In order for the xp to show correctly i have to turn smooth fonts on. But by turning smooth fonts on it makes everything else look like arial to me (chat window, quest window, tradeskill, etc..).

When I turn smooth fonts off everything looks fine except for the xp numbers and the target/implied target (that I can tell thus far).

What am I doing wrong or how can i go about fixing this? I really love the text with smooth fonts off, but the xp numbers look so funny i have to turn it on.

Also one thing I noticed, you can kind of tell from the screenshot is when I turn smooth fonts on. Look at the XP number. "70.4" if you look closely at the ".4" it gets real dark in that area for some reason. It did this with both 1.8a and 1.8b. Just wanted to let you know of that, not sure of the cause of course.

If i can't get this fixed I'm considering going back to 1.7 as it seemed perfect in my aspect in most cases.

try putting the included fonts in your windows fonts folder - normally

c:\winnt\fonts or c:\windows\fonts

also make sure they are in sony\everquest ii\ui\fonts

speedline.ttf and highspeed.ttf

and this is why you are the man!!!! guess it would help if i read the directons doh! sorry. Just to re emphasize this is by far the best UI imo. Flows extremely well with sony's new default ui.

My Storewindows still doesn´t work after LU16.

To fix this, i´ve overwritten the eq2ui_inventory_store.xml with the one from the /UI/Default Folder.

But the UI is great :)

everyone i know who is using profit ui 1.7d-1.8b had a problem with the store window but everyone is fixed now becasue i told them to remove the "eq2ui_inventory_store.xml" from the folder all together

Please read the notes for 1.8 - INSTALL TO FRESH FOLDER !!!

Then no need to remove file

I wanted to know if anyone else has any problems with the casting bar and the colors in your life bar and power power? I don't see the colors any more just the numbers. I've reloaded several times, updated EQ II Map loader to newest version and uploaded the maps but it doesn't seem to fix the problem. Any Suggestions?

Is it just me? I can't find the default usersetting files in the zip download. I have downloaded it 3 times. Could anyone help me out?

hehe i KNOW i diddn't have the problem :cP but not everyone wants to upgrade to the newest version :cP its not a requirement to upgrade to 1.8, 1.7 is still vallid just have to remove the store window to fix that one little bug :cP
hehe i upgraded and had no problems other than your little booboo with the eq2.ini which was easy fix

I forgot to add to my first post. Thanks so much for the UI. I have never seen anything that comes close to this one.

Are we missing the autoattack indicator again? Can you maybe stick it between the tenth decimal spot of the exp and the coins or something?

If you download 18b from page 1 of this post, you get the ui settings file.

If you download 18b from the downloads section, you don't.

Just a curious question...whats changed between 1.8a and b? I put a on as soon as you posted, and its working great. curious if I should go b or not.

Although I have one minor problem with 1.8, since you got rid of the hotbar thing I have no auto attack indicator. Am i missing something? (it used to be the sword flashing)
