P.S. You will notice the Persona Window has become a little blan.
That's because the enhancments that Sony has applied are currently hidden untill they release them at patch day. ;)

My EQ button/bar area is short...it is chopped off at the "stop drink" button and the slide bar beneath it says "Co" . Haven't found a way to expand it - unlocked the window but couldn't make it any wider.
Really like the dragon Knowledge Book. Would be nice if it had a toggle switch located on the book itself.
Nothing else noted.

Okay, got the EQ Button/Bar to expand. I had to give the window a frame and then was able to grab the corner and expand the window. :nana:

Again, Great UI.

I would Like to see the installer Wider to be rid of the scroll bars for the install information. Silly, but one of those anal things. I will update later on this post but I wanted to log this now so I don't forget. :eek:


I am now Playing and testing the new ui so I figured I would Start a log of good items and items that may not function as theyu should.

1) 5:38 pm 1280 X 1024 Set to High Qulity. Dragon Book is Awesome.

2) Spell Effects window. I would Like to see it in a horizontal list much like the Emote list oh and re-sizable left and right. I won’t mentions the resize thing again as you already know how I feel about that. :)

3)Help window is awesome. Every thing worked well. The www was also a nice feature that is working.

Yeah, only problem with making a resizable window larger is at first load its a bit cutoff :)
The dragon book has a toggle but is "hidden/not very noticable" (Click the Dragon head to close the book).
I'm not the original author and haven't had time to refine it yet but will. :)

Very nice installer slicker then an oil slick covered in butter :)

Following in standard Sony update style...

There's an update to the update.

Hopefully the issues list won't follow Sony's example and grow. :p

I'm replacing beta 4.7.0 with version 4.7.1 now.
This is an update to the 4.7.0 beta as Sony has applied LU13 to the test servers.
The "beta" is a fully working install that should actually be better than 4.6 in my oppinion. Just be sure to uninstall any earlier versions.
Also note: My installer used to NOT overwrite existing XML for fear of overwriting anything a user may have added as an additional mod.
I have since changed the installer to overwrite all files except the "notes1-4" so be sure to backup any 3rd party mods you may wish to use with the ThorUI.

I cannot seem to get the installer to work....each time I try it, it tells me it failed to read setup engine. I have no idea how to fix the problem. Please let me know what to do.

What operating system including service pack are you using?
If you're running Windows XP, I would recommend performing all updates as that's just me...

I figured it out. When i clicked on the link to run the installer I saved the installer into my documents instead of just running it and it worked fine from there. I don't really know what the difference is but it worked so i'm happy.

Having a problem with the group members window.
I believe it was the full/fill bottom to top version, however when I was in a full grp of 6 members I was only showing one other person in the group - me and the number 2 person. I disbanded and rejoined the group twice and both times it only showed 2 peeps in group.

i cant get it to work
 

i dowloaded, installed , but not real sure what else i need to do or why its not working. im sure its somthing i was suppossed to do and didnt.

I'll look into it and see what's wrong.

This one has me stumped (not sure if it's possible but doesn't make sense why it wouldn't be...)
I've asked for help on this one in the forums.
Until it's resolved, (bottom to top) and (right to left) aren't working.

I couldnt find if you posted the changes from 4.7.0 to 4.7.1....could you list them please?

Here are some changes i made to 4.7.0

Used SunthasTarget2 to make easer to see player/target/implied windows

Changes are listed in the Version Info.txt after installing (there's a link in the Start Menu ThorUI folder)

Since it's beta things are changing quickly so I don't list changes between beta versions but here's the full list as it stands currently. (Basically #5 and on are the .1 changes

hello, great UI I am using 4.6
Had a few questions before upgrading to 4.7 or above

I craft directly from my knowledge book so I have the icons arranged and spaced the way I want them. How do I update without disturbing these?

I also used your 1280x1024 layout which provided a great base with a few of my tweeks. How do I keep this setup without losing the changes.

Knowledge book layout along with hotbar layout is saved server side. (Good thinking on Sony's part)
My installer doesn't overwrite your player window settings file so no worries there either. :)

Just uninstall ThorUI (you can always make a copy of the ThorUI folder first "just in case") then install the new version.
Just be warned although 4.7.1 is real close to being complete, it's still just a beta so some issues exist such as the variable group windows. (If you choose a custom install and choose a bottom fill up group window, it won't work) :confused: "I'm working on this one"

the program loaded just fine ...and everything works real nice...its just that i cant seem to move the "norrath time and earth time" icon. its stuck on the default position. plz help me fix this problem.

I just downloaded your UI, and I've installed with your ThourUI Installer, and all is done. The problem is that I overwrite the server_mycharacter_eq2_uisettings.ini, and it doesn't work, because I always see how all the UI is a "chaos"... I don't understand why, but the layout isn't working :(

I used the UI configuration software that comes with your UI, but I can't fix that problem.

Can you help me to know what happen please?

hi Faetyl,iam useing your beta ui everything works great just on the start button where combat and music are i turn them all the way down but when i log off and back on both the music and combat music are back on,am i missing something? your ui keeps getting better and better :)

I just installed 4.7.1 beta version. Excellent UI!

As I was resetting my window and playing with the buttons I couldnt locate where the 'edit Biography' screen is located or where to change player title and prefix.

Keep up the great work!

Right click and choose "window properties" in a black area between the clock text (Best area is at the bottom)
Unlock the window then move to whereever you would like.

Did you make a copy of "ThorUI_1280x1024_eq2_uisettings.ini" assuming you play at that resolution...
Then rename to yourserver_yourcharactername_eq2_uisettings.ini
for example mine is "unrest_faetyl_eq2_uisettings.ini"

Be aware that you already have a version there and you will need to delete it first.

Let me know if this doesn't resolve the issue and we can hook up on MSN or Yahoo messenger :)

Just like the previous version that allowed us to change volume to 0%/Mute to 50% to 100% but not save those settings upon logout, this one functions the same way but offers the slider for more control.

I don't believe it's possible for this setting to be saved upon logout but will certainly look into it time permitting. :)

Good eyes!
The persona window is going through a major Sony revamp soon and in order to prepare for that I've modded the persona window based on those up and coming changes.
The Biography screen along with a nifty faction screen will be available via the "now hidden" tabs at the top of the page.

To get a preview, follow the instructions on setting up to login to the test server. "Basically copy the EverQuest II directory to the folder within called "testserver" then launch testeq2.exe.
You can make a character on the test server even if your like me and used up all your 10 character slots :)
You can then test out the very cool additions that Sony is working on.
For example: find a willing subject and type /duel in game ;)

To finish my long winded reply, the Biography page will be unavailable until Sony releases LU13.
If this is an issue, you may always just delete or rename "eq2ui_mainhud_persona.xml" to "eq2ui_mainhud_persona.xml.old" until they release LU13

Can't wait until the release and wish I could blab all about it. :D

Faetyl, I did what you say the first time, the second, the third... And the result is "rare", sometimes goes with a nearly well layout and sometimes with disorder... but never with the correct layout.

That last time I renamed your ini file with the name of my server/player, and it doesn't work anyways. :(

I just want to use your UI because I think that's cool for the simplicity and usability.

FYI for any that may have this same issue.
Mathias and I worked on figuring this out on MSN Messenger...
The issue was resolved by going into the in game options and clicking the "Default" button to reset all display options back to default.
The issue derrived from the black boarder being adjusted some time ago.
Hope this helps someone else out there.

On another note, I will be releasing the next beta release soon for fear Sony will be performing LU13 unexpetantly as typical. :)

Be aware that the Persona window has been updated by Sony to incorporate more tabs due to a faction page being added.
In order to prepare for this I have included a modded version of that window.
You will notice the biography page does not exist.
This is because it's on a hidden tab until the LU13 release.
If you can't live without it until then, you may simply go into the ThorUI folder and change the name of eq2ui_mainhud_persona.xml to hold_eq2ui_mainhud_persona.xml
This will give you the default page until release at which time you may just go in and reverse the process to get the modded window back.

Is there any way to make the action buttons bigger, I love every aspect of the UI except the action buttons are a bit too small, makes my head hurt after a few minutes.

Sure is, almost any aspect of the ThorUI you don't much like can be removed and placed back to the default game settings by simply going into the ThorUI folder and deleting the corresponding .xml file.
The action buttons xml happens to be "eq2ui_mainhud_hotkey.xml"
So just delete or rename the file to something like "old_eq2ui_mainhud_hotkey.xml" and you should login to find the default EverQuest II hotkeys.
Let me know if for some reason this doesn't work. :)
