Very sad news

Today I received word from online friends of Humudce/Tiggler that he had suffered a heart attack and passed away early this morning May 3rd 2005. Humudce was a very active member in the EQ2MAP project and with the custom interface community. He had made many online friends here and has helped many of you. I only knew Humudce as an online friend and dont even know his real life name but from just talking to him on IM from time to time I could tell he was a great guy.

I want to express my deepest condolences to his family and friends.

If any one has any more information that can be released about the services or just even his real life name and such please post them here.

Cairenn 05-04-2005 01:33 AM

My thoughts go out to his family and friends also. :(

dc_roenfanz 05-04-2005 01:46 AM

I happen to be in the same guild as Humudce, so I will be happy to direct anyone who knows anything to this thread.

I was very saddened which I came to learn what happened. From what I have been told, he had no medical history of heart trouble, so the attack was EXTREMELY sudden and unexpected. I think it would be gracious of us if we set up something for Humudce in memorium.

None of it just makes any sence

:( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

PS: Thankyou Cairenn and Dolby. Your condolences will be passed on to the appropriate peoples

I heard about it in chat earler today.. Tig and i were on the same server.. When we werent bumping into each other in qeynos he was always in the eq2ui channel.. We would talk about cleric stuff or how much patch day sucked.. and i would always shout "Tiggy!" whenever he joined chat =)
Tiggy was my friend..
I miss him.. =(

My heartfelt condolences to his friends and family.
Thanks for all the info eric.

It's always hard losing someone you consider a friend, even if only virtually, but even harder when they're as thoughtful and constructive as Tiggler. He will be greatly missed.

Laffs 05-04-2005 08:21 AM

This is all very sad :( the breif period that I had known him via this site my impressions were he seemed like a nice guy also all I can realy say is I offer my condolences to friends and family as well....

Vandiin 05-04-2005 08:42 AM

I never really knew him, but I hate hearing something like this happening to anyone. The thoughts of my family and myself are with his family and friends.

Crystalreine 05-04-2005 08:57 AM

Thank you everyone for the kind words. Tiggler and I were very close, I was his girlfriend. I will be sure to pass on your words to the rest of the family...thank you again.

i am deeply saddened about this and i am sure i can say that he will be missed by everyone here. although i never knew him in real life i would talk to him almost every day, he has helped me with countless things and i will miss him very much. i am sorry for your loss, but just try to remember how wonderful he was and how many people he made happy.
he was a good friend to me and i will be dedicating the final version of the EQ2MAP updater in his memory.

Oodoe@Oggok 05-04-2005 09:31 AM

I didnt know Tiggy online or on here I do use some of this work thought, and superb work it is too. Im very sadened to hear this, my heart goes out to all that care for him im very sorry to hear this,

My Prayers are with you Tiggy

Crystalreine 05-04-2005 09:36 AM

He spoke alot about you Taco as well as many others here...its going to be very difficult. I log onto the game and wait..Im waiting for him to join me but he is not here...I log into teamspeak and wait to hear his voice but its not there...I know its going to take some time but eventually things will get easier I know. Things wont be the same without him..right now I dont know where to turn or what to do. He always helped me with tech problems, was there to make installing things easier because I am one of the many computer illiterate that cant do anything right. He always put his UI's and things in an instant installer so that we only had to click one button and the installer program would put things where they belong. What am I going to do without my Tiggy.

amberlia 05-04-2005 09:52 AM

Oh that's horrible, is this the same Humudce that also played on Bristlebane in eq1?

Very sad indeed, regardless :(

I just learned he was the same. That is just so sad, I was guilded with him a few years back. His name was Scott.

/comforts to all who knew him well...

Lange 05-04-2005 10:02 AM

My sympathies go out to his friends and family as well. I only knew him from here, but he always came across as a kind, intelligent and thoughtful person who was always willing to lend a hand to someone else - be it through a slight improvement to their computer game or a kind thought or comment.

Sir Taleisin The Seer 05-04-2005 10:14 AM

truely a sad day, I as well think we should setup something for Humudce to remember him by.

Killarny 05-04-2005 10:46 AM

He was always willing to help out - and always pleasant in his postings. His interfaces were some of the only ones that I found to be exactly what I was looking for.

I feel really bad talking about the things that I will miss about him - it seems so selfish. It is odd how much it can hurt when this happens to someone whom you've never even met.

My heart goes out to his family and friends -

Yufice 05-04-2005 10:58 AM

Things like this are always sad, no matter who it happens to. Many condolences out to his family and close friends.

Vampiro 05-04-2005 11:07 AM

Very sad Indeed

I am sure if he conducted his life in the same manner as he was projected from his posts here, then he was really a very nice person.

I am sure he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Rest In Peace!

depechenode 05-04-2005 11:17 AM

I am lost for words :( Humudce was a friend to many, both in RL and in the virtual realm. His help, and insightful conservations will be missed. May his legacy live on as we continue forward, and everytime a mod made by him pops on your screen...may the smiles of of Humudce shine upon you.

My condolenses to Humudce's family as well.

Taxet 05-04-2005 11:18 AM

I am saddened by this. My heart goes to the family and friends.

Nox 05-04-2005 11:38 AM

Sad news indeed. my condolences to his friend and family. :(

gravelpeake 05-04-2005 12:33 PM

I did not know Tiggler, but I knew of his interface work.
I would like to offer my condolences to all who knew him and my sympathy to all those who will miss him.

My condolenses to Humudce's family as well.

Zonx 05-04-2005 01:42 PM

Crystal, I also play on Blackburrow. Please contact me in game or on Yahoo IM anytime for anything.

Hum is the second EQ friend I've lost to sudden tragedy. If you need a shoulder to cry on, someone to spend time with in game, anything, shoot me a tell.

Madmoxi 05-04-2005 03:16 PM

I remember him from Bristlebane in EQL, although I barely knew him he was always kind to people, he was a genuinely nice guy that the world will miss.

Nitefang 05-04-2005 04:22 PM

I did not know him personally - but I've read many of his helpful posts and used several of his mods - its strange that you can feel the loss of someone you never even spoke to...

I too think some sort of memorial is in order - he was a large part of the modding community and will be missed.

Rest in Peace Good Sir

UmbraNemo 05-04-2005 05:01 PM

though I didn't know him well he and I with a few others had just set up the test server guild. It may only be a minor gesture but I will be leaving his alt as co-leader of the guild there in rememberance. And to all that knew him my sincere condolances. :(

Adder 05-04-2005 06:17 PM

When something so completely unexpected and sad as this is occurs, its a good time for all of us to remember just how short life is and we never know when we will be called home. Though I didn't know him, his posts and activities here in the modding community indicated to me that he was probably a helpful and caring person. When someone like that passes on, its a tradgety for all of us.

My sincerest condolences to his loved ones and friends and may all their memories of him be good ones.

Nightlord 05-04-2005 06:34 PM

Wow, that sucks. He was a huge help here at the site- his input and humor will be greatly missed.

vixyn 05-04-2005 06:35 PM

This is sad news indeed :(

I, for one, enjoyed using the ui pieces and such that he created :(

Good wishes towards his family :(

Etarla 05-05-2005 11:21 PM

All I can say is WOW. As I sit here reading I am reminded of how large an impact Tiggler / Humudce had on the EQ gaming world we all know and love. My name is Etarla. My husband and were very close to Tigg both in game and in RL. He spent almost as much time at our house as he did his own and our kids knew him as Uncle Scotty. I think he would be totally overwhelmed at the outpouring you have shown here. I came on to post about his services and read the whole thread in tears. I know he will be missed by so many. He gave his all to any who asked, and then he gave more. My husband will be retrieving all his works in progress off his computer and if someone from here will contact us at my email we would like to make them available to the people he had worked with in the past to finish them in his honor. My husband and I sadly are not talented in that area.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 6th from 5pm to 9pm in Long Beach CA. The chapel is located at 6510 Cherry Ave. in Long Beach. Any who wish to or need more information can feel free to drop me an email.

Once again, there will be no way to replace our dear friend, but I know he would want us to go on and make the game as great as it can be.

taco-man 05-06-2005 01:59 AM

Etarla, i sent you an email and wish to come to the funeral but i wanted to make sure it was alright to come since i did not know him in RL.

I would like to come too. My problem is that I live in Sacramento, and, while I could drive down there in theory, my car hates me. It would prolly revolt halfway there.

Killarny 05-06-2005 02:37 AM

I am from San Diego, but I'm stationed in Utah right now. I sincerely wish I could come to the service, but I am unable.

Scott will be in my thoughts ...

Etarla 05-06-2005 01:40 PM

Scott would welcome all his friends, whether they knew him in RL or in the gaming community. Any who wish to attend are more than welcome. Would be great to show his mom and sister how well loved he was in his online community.

rrm 05-06-2005 10:52 PM

Condolences to those who he loved and who loved him.

Not a good week. Still stunned.

Laffs 05-07-2005 01:18 AM

Sadly I live in the UK so I will not be able to attend =(

So I ask Taco-man to please send my love to his Mom / Sis & Friends for me please.

Damea 05-31-2005 08:07 AM

Condolences to all his friends and family...

I don't know the person at all... but i can tell he was a great person by reading up on this thread... and i loved his UI pieces...

A sad day indeed...

Corren Silverfir 05-31-2005 09:50 AM

Wow! Man am I a slow reader, just saw this. I remember him well on the boards though I never had the pleasure to meet him in RL. My best wishes and condolances go out to his family.

He will be missed.
