ill add an option for it to be resizeable in the next release of the updater. which will be next week sometime since that is when i have spring break (and will have some time to work on it)
|
So I'm not understanding the installation. I installed the updater in E:\Games\EQ2Mapper, and ran it, and it downloaded all the POI info to a folder E:\Games\eq2map. But when it runs EQ2 (from main gam dir E:\Games\EQ2), nothing shows up in game. I looked, and the eq2.ini file hasn't been updated by the install. So I assume this means EQ2 doesn't actualy know about the mapper. Shouldn't this E:\Games\eq2map folder actually be E:\Games\EQ2\UI\eq2map? If not, please give the exact recipe for how I tell EQ2 how to find the eq2map files. The standard instructions assume the new sking is a subdirectory of the UI folder.

Sounds like you may be missing the Registry Entry that EQ2MAP Updater Installer looks for for your EverQuest 2 folder, this commonly happens when EQ2 is installed on another computer, and copied over to the new computer. When copying the Registry Entry is then hence missing. You can check this by going to your Start Menu, and choosing RUN, and typing in "regedit.exe" this will bring up your Registry Editor. You are looking for the following: My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\EverQuest2.exe This registry Key should have 2 values 1 indicated as (Default) which should show the exact path to the EverQuest2.exe file, and the 2nd Value Path should point to the path without the Executable. If this is registry entry is missing the Installer and Updater do not know where to look for your EverQuest 2 Installation. If you would like to create this registry entry I have created the code you will need to cut and paste into an empty Text File, created wtih notepad. The code is: Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00After the Key is recorded in the Registry I would suggest uninstalling the EQ2MAP Updater, and re-installing it. The installer should see the Correct Path and create the proper configuration file, when you run the Updater, as it now knows where to look for the EQ2.ini file. |

Turns out, if you have an eq2.ini which is only there to turn on anti-aliasing in the graphics, and contains no custom ui spec, the installer gets confused. I deleted my existing eq2.ini, tried the install again, and all is fine now. And... THIS THING ROCKS!!!!! Awesome achievement. |

EDIT: looks like you got it fixed, glad to hear you were able to figure it out! i will have to add a check for the setting not being in the eq2.ini file on the next version. |

Ok maybe im really dumb or my english skill has decreased so bad that i missed something in the installation but the thing does not work for me.
I downloaded the autoupdater. I ran it into my custom UI folder and got the following files and folder in it AxInterop.SHDocVw.dll eq2map_config.cfg EQ2MAP_Updater Interop.SHDocVw.dll eq2map Plus the uninstall file. The path to mu custom UI is E:\EQ2\LP_REGION_EN_US\UI\customUI And my ini read cl_ui_skinname customUI cl_ui_subdir UI/ Just to be on the safe side i also copied the whole thing over to my E:\EQ2\UI\customUI and also changed the ini there (That shouldnt change a thing but wanted to try it out). Yet i dont have the maps :( |
Rivervale map problems
Once I go to the east side of town the map doesn't load. Still shows the west side (zone in area). IS there a map file for the east side?

Love this program!
Simple (I hope) problem with the auto updater. When it loads onto screen I get half of the display, like a pop-up window, and there is no way to resize it. I can't read any of the newest update notes, nor the Updated zones/files list and the New zones/file list. It seems to be half as tall and half as wide as it should be. In game though, everything is awesome! |
this happens on some computers and in the next release it will be resizeable.

Just stopped working.
Got home from work, ran the updater, launched game... and all the pretty maps were gone :(
Any suggestions about where to start looking for the problem? I tried reinstalling the mod, but no luck. |
same problem here (friend also) also tried reinstalling mod from scratch, basically looks like all pois have gone awol.
|
Dead on mine now as well.
|
try again pls
|
Mine have all gone to
No maps here either tried re-installing had no effect.
:( |
Same thing just happened to me. I launched the updater and then ran the game and now my maps are all messed up with no POIs.
Edit: NM, it seems that Mook's skin is whats causing the issue, i reinstalled without it and i no longer get the graphical errors. |
delete your eq2_mainhud_map.xml file. Redo updater.
