ahhh man ... sorry to see you leaving the game... Your mod is by far the best and most useful out there. Ok all that a side I have one suggestion.

When the program is run for the first it automatically starts dumping the information into the default UI folder. By by default I am running a mod so I have to stop it half way through the load and change the UI directory in the options section to the mod I am using (fetish in this case).

It would be nice to see that the first time it is run either the option window pops up first or a window to choose the ui folder before downloading starts right away. Other than that... I have no complaints on this tool.

i need help bad its really driving me crazy. i installed it and then it says the ui directory is set to: default that is not a custom folder directory the updater wil not download any files til this is corrected. HELP ME PLZ. i have tried everything here and every time it keeps saying this. thank you

delete your eq2.ini file, you set it up incorrectly and it is preventing you from using an incorrect eq2.ini file. you can re-set one up properly, or just run the updater without setting one up and it will make you one that is set up properly itself. if you have any more problems please use the troubleshooting forum for eq2map.

Yup it is wrong... read the sticky thread on this topic. You need to contact your AntiVir company and tell them your getting a false positive. ;)

Just wanted to say thanks for making this mod. For ages I've been moaning to my guild about the fact that I couldn't find my way around certain zones because SOE didn't include a map. Of course, one of my guildmates piped up about this mod. I've installed it, and it is AWESOME!

Hi guys. Top notch job on the mappack, but I have one problem. Did a browse but didn't see it listed.

I don't see the big red dots for group members on my map now, since I installed the map pack. Knowing me, i probably just unticked something or simular, but it's a real bummer.
Have you heard of this happening please?

Since the Liveupdate ... (Bawls her eyes out) I had to remove my mapping system and feel like im flying blind in the game.

Any ideas on how to adjust things so my precious maps will work again?

Just a quick suggestion, it would be cool if the map could be closed using the escape key. only a little thing, but it is annoying to have to press m to clost it when escape works for everything else. Aside from that, i want to say that the map is fantastic and you gyus have done a great work :D

Wont let me update and now i cant play Everquest 2. What's wrong?

make sure it has permission from your firewall to connect to the internet when you run it.

I've just returned to eq2 and installed you map ui along with a custom ui. I can see some of the bigger zones w/poi's when I try to use it in Stormhold I get a white screen with the poi's but no actuall map.

Did I do something wrong? I scanned thru this post pretty quickly and didn't see my problem off the bat.

ok installed it and downled and instelled .net however----

are you using windows xp 64bit, and what version of .net did you download, and did you download any of the updates for the version of .net that you have, and what processor are you using?

also if you dont have the .net framework 1.1 and its possible to install it on your computer, do that and then put the attached file inside the directory the updater is installed to (default is C:\Program Files\EQ2MAP Updater)

hey, Im getting the same error as Mubalo. My connection to net is fine.

what ports are used durring the update process?..

is there anyway to get the maps from a different source other than using the update?


notes: my dsl router is a westell 2100 series.. and it likes to bonk out on me when downloading some things... its completely random.. to me, but someone else may have noticed a pattern in these devices..
My work around is to usually ftp or wget the file to a server that I have ssh access to and then bring it down to my system through the encrypted tunnel.

2nd note: you can play eq2.. sometimes... if you get booted repeatedly.. just move your eq2.ini file out of the eq directory and then fire up the game.. map will be disabled.. but you will get in and not crash

get them from the manual download, it just wont be the most current.

the only port it uses is 80 (as i recall, its whatever port internet explorer uses). make sure you have internet explorer set up correctly because it uses its settings for downloading files.

Follow what the quest ask you to do it should lead you right to where u need to be. ( along with a yellow wisp)

But to answer your questiong; On one of the docks you will see a bell haning from a short hooked pole. Double click or right click and select leave the island.

Been using this for a while and it's an excellent mod.
Always recommend it in-game.

Having said that ;) just decided to upgrade to the 1.06 version and have no idea if previous beta version should be uninstalled before installing this, or if the new .ini file will still hold the extras I've added for AA and another mod?

Would be a good idea to make this clear on the download page perhaps?

Love the maps they are totally awsume. Though your map is missing one thing the orginal eq2 maps had. I noticed once when i was going to pick up a shard i had lost. I picked up another quest on way back not even thinking forgot where i left my shard and died 2 more times trying to find it. The old map i had had a button for waypoints somewhere on it that you could press and bring up a list of waypoints you ahd which included points to you shards. If you could add this in some way would be great. If not oh well 3 days is the price you pay for having all the maps in the game. Thx for the great program.

alt-w brings up the waypoint window if i am not mistaken.

I'm gettin the (0xc0000135) error but I have windows 100% updated, but I'm running windows XP64, maybe the EQmap doesn't support xp64?

Most people it seems install EQ2Maps, run the updater that first time and then never run it again or very rarely.

This is oh, so wrong! Especially with a new expansion out!

I use EQ2Maps to launch EQ2 and have since the 2nd day I started playing. Everytime I launch it, I get the latest updates to the maps. It keeps them current, makes playing soooooo much easier and help you enjoy the FULL benefits of having EQ2Maps installed. So...

Point that Shortcut that launches EQ2 to the EQ2Maps Updater instead and tell EQ2Maps Updater there EQ2 is so it can launch EQ2 when it's done.

When you do it that way, you patch your maps and then patch the game. And THAT, my friends, is how you stay on top of the game! :-)

I am getting a graphic mess up on the UI for the Updater. any idea why this is happening? see ss below.

I'm getting a window that says, that I need .Net Framework v2.0.50215 and the best I can get from the microsoft page is the . Net Framework v1.0.1
I cannot run the program anymore, I keep getting that message over and over. I lost the maps and now feel lost in EQ :p

You need to download the latest version of the updater. The one your using is old. :)

Im getting this too and Im not sure why. It doesn't "seem" like it's interfereing with the function of the map updater but it's next to imposible to read the update notes.

this is caused by having the DPI on your computer set to something besides the standard 96 DPI
