Hello there! I did notice the Quest Journal doesn't show the quest rewards (as in LU18)... any major updates coming?

I love this UI, and I'd use it exclusively, except for my graphics issue with it. I used it for a long time, but only after I tried out a different UI did I notice the performance issue.

On other UI's (at least some, haven't tried most), I can usually run decently on Balanced performance in say... Ant / TS, with Profit, I get the same amount of visual lag on Extreme Performance as I do with Balanced using other UI's =/

Which is really unpleasing :( Actually, I think I get more lag with it >.<

Deleting the settings.ini that comes with Profit seems to fix the issue I'm having I believe, but then I don't get the nice layout =(

Any ideas on a solution? :)

Greetings...

I hope this is the proper forum for such a post...

I was wondering if it were at all possible to get back support for the buttons that were removed (eg: Manastone, Mount, etc). Generic, however, so that User could program them.

I want to take the txt files that were part of the button operationally, and modify to do things like mount my magic carpet and put back my idol after; or put on my Flash of Intelligence (leaving the door open for jokes here) and put back my regular ring.

Or could you reply with info on how to get that button window back. I dont think there is a way to use the .txt command files from a regular in-game macro, so I guess that the buttons are the best next option.

Hey all. I'm running on Profit's "C" version and heard there was a "D" version someplace in here. I couldn't find it though.

Now, everytime I load up the game, I get a few "this UI is not supported" text lines. I'm not sure if its part of Profit's or others, but I thought I'd give it a shot to upgrade my Profit first, seeing as the rest of the UI's I have installed don't seem broke to me (EQ2map, a journal window, and HO add on)

I'd also wonder what happened to my manastone clicky button. I'd like that back the most since I still use it (And if it works with the new manastone v2. philter of life, that'd be great too!)

Just curious why you would want those, you can just drag the items to a empty slot on your hotbar.

Not sure if its a bug or not but i dont even need to equip my magic carpet I jut use it straight from my INV slot.(Which I have draged to my hotbar) Same for my rngs, food & drink, etc. Here is a screen:

Mostly because I don't run it on the full size intended, and also because my entire hotbar (all 5 bars of it) are filled up.

I can't seem to resize them either, or I'd go for 6 and do that. I can't figure out how to resize the bars *frustratred* Edit: But now seeing that "D" lets me resize I'll do that. yay!

Thanks for pointing out "D" I missed it there *smacks head* D'oh!

Hi, first post, new to game, but thought I might add my 2 cents to the bottom stat bar issue.

You say it was taken out, so is that why when I go into the window settings for that window and change it to frames and border option and click accept, it will NOT keep the setting. It doesn't even work as far as I know.

As for the rest of the UI, what is the 3 horizontal bar window? Is that the "intended target" thingy? If so why cant I make my screen look like yours? I run it in 1024 X 768 res for now cause i just can't seem to get the high quality to go smooth on 1280X1024. My video card should handle it. It's a geforce 6600gt PCIe 128mb card.

Other than the few minor annoyances, it's friggen great! Mods rule!

It is listed in the chages section on the first page. What version of the UI are you running? I did notice that when I upgraded to version D on my wifes computer I did have to delete her ui setting ini file and copy over the new one that comes with version D and rename the file again to get the UI to look proper.
Copying over the new ui setting file will get rid of the lower bar and add the extra hotbars to the right of the screen as well.

Changes:
* New Player window (see screen shot) I use this to keep my eye on the lower part of the screen - I purely use the top part for information. Press ALT+U to see this.

Inventory is overflowing
 
I'm a big fan of ProfitUI 1.8D and love using it. Recently however, specifically since doing the Frostfell Christmas quest, I started getting this silly Inventory Is Overflowing message at annoying times. The snowball satchel that you're given in the Frostfell quest keeps popping up into my inventory overflow. It happens each and every time I zone, or when I login. It's always that same snowball satchel, and it always pops back into my overflow even if I've put it in one of my bags or even put it in the bank.

I searched both this UI forum as well as the EQ2 forums, but don't see this issue mentioned. Any thoughts as to whether it's perhaps a Profit issue? I guess I could login without Profit and verify, but thought I'd ask here first.

Never mind... CSR says it's a known bug and that developers are working to resolve it. Funny how it didn't affect all of my toons, just this one. Oh well... :nana:

As I think I mentioned, the reason I want the clickable programmable icons is to make a higher level button that will equip and then use then unequip (replace actually) what I had in a given slot.

Of course you can drag your ring and charm slots to the hotbar now, but.. I wear a nice int ring.. its a pain to have to dbl click inventory to put on my ring buff ring for more INT, then dbl click again to replace the normal ring, or totems for that matter...and yes the carpet or horse... The clickables provided a means to add code if you could figure out what you need...to do more than what the EQ2 basic interface facilitates.

The only thing I miss over the previous versions is the quickbar, I know that items can be dragged into hotbars etc, but I specifically miss the combat indicator (red flashing sword). Any plans to re-implement the quickbar or combat indicator into the UI, or is there any info we can use from previous versions to implement this piece ourselves?

Thanks for your hard work on this UI.

Yeah I asked about the combat indicator too as soon as this new version appeared without it. Guess Fetish is too busy to bother with the little things much anymore. Can't blame him though, I'd rather play than mess with my UI, and the holidays and all...

It appears Profit has come into so RL difficulty or maybe on vacation.. not sure..

Hope things are ok. Maybe someone can take over the maintenance of this Wonderful UI until Profit gets back.

Haven't heard from Him in quite a long time..

Anyway this UI rocks but as more and more changes are made to the game, this UI will eventually become unusable and that would stink.. but I guess we will see..

The lack of a combat indicator is really hurting me, and has for a long time. Is there someone here who knows how to mod the UI that could put that item in until Profit decides to start working on it again?

It looks like Profit was working on making multiple items in the experience window blink for combat indicator (as indicated by the code from the original quickbar in multiple places) but couldnt get it to work. Maybe the interface doesnt allow to blink text (which is what his indicators are linked to)

anyway, dug through my archives and found an old copy of the quickbar and stripped all but the combat button. It is not clickable, but will flash when you click attack or range attack.

Just put the file in your profit18 (or whatever folder your other profit files are in) and in game load the window with /show_window Mainhud.QuickBar (I would recomend putting it in a macro button, or searchin the boards for instructions on automatically loading custom windows)

I havent tried this yet, but I did download it and try to use it as an example of how to make something indicate combat (and failed miserably :). What I want to do is make the border around the target health/mana bar in the center of the new player window flash. Anyone know how this might be accomplished? That would be great, since its in the center of my attention at the bottom of the screen. Or make the health bar itself flash or something.

Thanks for the effort though :) Just loading that manually each time would be a pain :(

For those of you that would like to reduce the size of the "groupmembers" window, there is a groupmember file in the Profit directory with the word "Small." infront of it. Simply delete the existing groupmember file and edit the "Small." one by removing the "Small." and saving it. log back in and you now have a much smaller groupmember window.

This is somethign I have wanted since first loading this UI and never knew I had the ability to do it myself..

Anyway just fyi..

hey profit I see they are changing a lot of things in the upcoming LU19 publish, I hope you are still with us and can look things over as they are put to test center. I would so hate not having your UI to use while playing eq2.

Hi all, I changed a little bit the startbutton. Instead of bags-button is there a harvest-info-window-button. Also I add a T6 info.




Download: harvest.zip
Just unzip and copy that three files in your Profit18 folder.
Be sure you make a backup of eq2ui_mainhud_startbutton.xml before.

Anyone here familiar with UI modding that can add the combat indicator to an existing window? I have tried but just cant figure it out. I was trying to make the border of the new player window (the horizontal self -> target -> implied) target health bar flash since I keep that center bottom screen and it would be in just the right place for me, but couldnt get it to work. I did succeed in getting the target name to display backwards and upside down, but I certainly didnt intend this :)

ok...seeling as i am getting tired of seeing this type of post, and my last post seems to be too hard for you to do. (you say that loading a macro button is too difficult to make the window show up, but i said that if you wanted i there always, just look up how to auto load windows and it was easy to do...almost every ui mod does it)

from past times playing with this, and looking at other ui's, we seem to be able to make graphics blink, but cant seem to make a blinking border, so...

I have taken 10 minutes to put the little combat sword over the experience bar of the target, blinking when either attack or range attack is active. The work was pretty easy, just take the page with the code from the other file, and place it in the player file, resize and voila... the icon may be a little small, but it was what fitted without resizing the window and all the items in it. you can do that yourself if it is that important :)

this ui is awsome!!! there are two things with the chat window that I dont know how to change is the text scroll only appeares when the mouse is over it and the little arrows you press to move the chat tabs over when u have multiple tabs in the chat window is completly black you can click it but there no little arrows that say left or right i have set all the windows settings to full and these two thigns dont change if i must change somehting in the code please tell me which file to edit. Im no comfortible goin through the files on my own but if i knew exactly what to do i will be fine other than that this ui is awsome!

Wow. It works, thanks. However, making the macro to load the window wasnt too hard, just wasnt something I wanted to have to do. Ditto, autoloading the window. I didnt want an extra window to do this function. Not when it could be combined into an existing one. Thanks again though, its small and will be watching for something better, but for now it works fine thanks a bunch.

With all the changes coming up in the near future, I may be forced to swap UI's (Yet again). I pray someone knowledgable with custom UI creation can update it as it is needed and I hope Profit is ok. It is unusual for him to not reply for so long..

Anyway still loving this UI.. Just hope we can continue to use it with future updates..

As i use this on all my characters and like it alot, I may be inclined to work on making sure it will continue to work. As my time is very limited, and i am semi lazy, the changes may not come fast, and i am not inclined to look back through all these posts to figure out what people are saying doesnt work currently.

If someone would make a single post with all the things that appear broken currently in the UI from version D, I may be able to fix some of them in the near future. Also, if in that same post, someone would collect all the feature requests, i may be able to knock some of those out if they are not too difficult/impossible.

no promises, but you never know...

Pretty dumb question this, but does anyone know how to close the window that Profit has put at the base of the screen, behind the chat and hotbar windows.

The window i mean is the semi transparent black one that stretches for the width of the screen, across its base.

I just did a fresh install and reloaded your UI, been using it for months now thumbs up, but now my XP numbers show up with a vertical line through it and the decimal spots are unreadable. It used to show up as a pattern of dots and was fully readable. Do I have a font in the wrong directory or something?

I defiantely appreciate your offer here.. The best way to see what the potential issues are with this UI really is to read what the folks using it are talking about in the previous posts in this thread..

All the issues I had are good to go (well all but two but they are more cosmetic).

My main concern was that when new updates to the game occur that require a change to the UI that someone was able to update it.
