Agreeing with Dragowulf here...been watching that same company for some time now.

dragowulf 04-11-2009 05:08 PM

Well with the All-Star team that they have, who the hell wouldn't?

LIES!

I do not remember giving you permission to retire!

/waves hand in Jedi fashion

You must continue to support ProfitUI and start playing EQ2 again.

Thanks for all the work you did. While ProfitUI was good it only got better after it's rebirth! You did a great job esp. as you weren't playing for a long time and still spend hours so that we had a better gaming experience!

Beside you work with ProfitUI you also helped EQ2Maps to keep up with TSO and also helped a lot of other UI-authors to get started. The EQ2 modding scene wouldn't and will not be the same without you. :(

I hope everything works out for you and you find something interesting to do with your new free time. ;)

Best wishes!

Calain

Thanks for all the work you have done (made the game playable after my Carpel tunnel (sp?) hit me hard) and made it fun. :)

Wow.....

I don't use Profit-reborn, but you have personally answered a lot of questions I have had, or helped on this or that....it's a sad, sad day for the EQ2 community indeed.

I'm very sad to see you go , I wish you the best in all your future endeavors, and hope you find a new game, and community to call home soon. Any community you join is blessed to have you as a member.

Thanks so much, gm9, for all your work on Profit Reborn. I would be lost without it, so I sincerely hope someone will step up and take it over.

Good luck and all the best to you!

Farfr0msane 04-20-2009 07:16 AM

Thank you GM9 for your work on a great UI, best of luck to you.

Orpheus666 04-21-2009 10:09 AM

Sorry to see you go. I started using Profit UI just before 06 and have always looked forward to the changes to Profit as EQ2 its self changed. Good luck to what ever other projects you choose ... or choose you. :)

Maelya 04-22-2009 01:37 AM

Oh no........... I have been using Profit for years, literally. It will be very very very very very very difficult for me to adjust to a new UI after all this time. There is so much about this one that I know and love, and its all thanks to you gm9. Good luck with whatever you choose to do. You have made this game more enjoyable for me for years, I can't find the words to thank you.

Dechau 04-22-2009 06:14 AM

GM9 I salute you..

I have been using Profit UI since 1 week after it first got launched, and for me it was a sad day when it "died" the first time..
Then you came as a knight in shining armore and saved us all, and made something, that was already good, great..
I can not even try to imagine the hours you have spend to gaming hours go more smooth that Sony could even think of themselves..
heck I'm sure that some of the new things they have in their standart UI was directly stolen from Profit (And others from this site ofc).

I surely get 5 stars in my book for your hard work and time spend..

Thank you very much, and all the best for you in your future gaming/UI modding

Dechau

* Starts to look around for someone to continue the best UI ever created for EQ2 *

FouLou 04-22-2009 12:08 PM

that's really sad to know :/

but thx for all you have done so far, i use profit since i started to play eq2 so it's like the default interface for me :o

ucellin 04-26-2009 09:17 PM

Damn that blows, what if I donated 500 bucks for another year of management?

If you are serious send me a PM about it, 500 bucks would probably buy you my time, lol.

Kinda sad actually. If 25 people were happy enough to donate $20, that would have been $500. As good as this UI is and as happy as people have been with it, kinda sad that gm9 hasn't already seen the $500.

gm9 04-27-2009 03:01 AM

Lol, I had edited that out again right away, you must have hit the quote button pretty much the moment I posted. ;)

Most people who did donate gave 5 bucks (of which paypal takes 50 cents plus some percent for conversion into Euro currency) and most of them did it around RoK release, no idea why (probably because the game died with/after RoK...). It's cool though, it helped offset the game subscription costs after I stopped playing which is the reason I started taking donations anyway. Thanks again to all donors, you know who you are!

Ailees 04-27-2009 12:45 PM

Anw what about the UI itself ? anyone gonna take it or is it going to slowly die ?

Drumstix42 04-27-2009 12:49 PM

With as many people as there are still in the UI community, I wouldn't doubt that users can work together in getting through patches. There's always alternatives as well. Doesn't hurt to ask for help.

As for me, I know I'm always willing to help patch things up to work correctly. I'm not a ProfitUI user, so I don't know the in's and out's. But, I do know the UI code fairly well. I never take compensation before a work is done, but in the case where things needed to be fixed, I would surely be more motivated by incentive as well.

Oizen 04-27-2009 02:04 PM

I've made you this gift as you have been a worthy nemesis and cherished adversary my friend. Do with it what you will.

Right. Don't forget the current ProfitUI is only "Reborn" also, and before that there were already several users providing patches where necessary. The userbase of ProfitUI has multiplied since then and includes many established modders. I would therefore be very surprised if it would not be held up by the community, even if nobody steps up to drive development forward.

In any case the way the UI is set up it is fairly resistant to game updates anyway, and fundamental changes from SOE like the recent change to group/raid windows are rare. So the likelyhood of stuff breaking isn't high anyway. I suppose the upcoming spell renaming will be the next thing to tackle for the macro buttons.

soulphage 05-09-2009 11:56 AM

Thanks

A simple thank you for all your hard work.

Wyntakata 05-09-2009 01:39 PM

I`ve been a big ProfitUI user for my entire EQ2 career. Thanks for all your work.

moralpanic 05-10-2009 02:19 AM

Just wanted to thank you as well for all the work you've done over the years. I can say that without your UI, the game would certainly be a different experience.
