NOT WORKING

Can't even bring up the recipe/tradeskill book as of August 28, 2011. Anxiously awaiting its modification to current updates.

single pane works, double pane gives a UI error.
And single pane does not have the tradeskill xp in lower left corner like the screenshot of your dual pane version

I have really missed this mod....

Thanks for the quick reply, Brushfire. From my (somewhat limited) understanding, they did enough of a revamp on the tradeskills that everybody's mod has been hammered unconscious. I'd rather you took your time and got it right, as opposed to rushing something that later needs redoing.

Re: Velious?

My goal is to have it updated within a week. However, I have a project at work due this week, and that obviously takes priority. I did look at it on release day, but this is no minor update. This will require an entire rewrite. I will try to look at it soon and see if I can make something work.

Okay, well... that all makes a lot of sense. I actually use a G-15 (the older, blue one), and have been looking for an effective/efficient way to utilize the G keys. So not only have you solved that problem for me, you've also made my suggestion/request with regards to your great UI mod completely moot!

Thank you.

I've looked at filling the buttons from bottom to top, unfortunately, I don't think it's possible. I don't determine how those buttons fill SoE does. The only thing I can do is alter the geometry of the surrounding window, so they fill in one or multiple rows.

Possibly I could produce another variant with the buttons all in one row. But, for my purposes having them in two rows, keeps durability and progress separate in my mind while I'm tradeskilling even if I have to flip the rows over when using a numpad. If I have time I will look into making a single row version, but I do feel that cripples the effectiveness of the mod and would encourage you to use the two row design.

I originally designed this mod for a G15 v.1 keyboard from logitech. It has groups of macro keys in banks of 6 that I can easily assign to any keystroke I like. This works great for tradeskilling and adventuring. I map G-Keys G1-G12 to Alt+1 through Alt+= and G13-G18 to Ctrl+Alt+1 throught Ctrl+Alt+6. From there all I have to do is place my hotbars in a similar fashion to the macro keys on the keyboard and I know have access to 18 + 12 spells/macros that directly match the way my keyboard looks.

This method of assigning macros has a side effect as well, the game ignores the Alt and Ctrl keys when I'm tradeskilling and I can therefore use G1-G6 and G13-G18 for tradeskilling with, and directly match the pattern in my UI. This setup seems to be more efficient timewise. I can generally finish writs up to three times faster than my wife (she insists on using the number keys above the qwerty pad).

What I'm saying is that to me the buttons are ordered in a good way. If this means that to properly use them I have to buy a special piece of hardware, well, I have always loved my G15 style keyboards for MMOs, they allow me to do more with my keyboard and use my mouse solely for character control instead of clicking macros spells. I would encourage anyone playing an MMO to purchase one, even though I realize the price is prohobitive.

BTW, the only keyboard that still has the original g-Key pattern of 18 G-Keys is the G510, it's a decent keyboard and way overpriced, I found mine for $100 on newegg. The original G15 v.1 keyboard sold for $60 online and $80 in the store. I do believe that the reason the price is higher is because the new keyboard has an USB audio device built in, so you can plug your headphone and microphone directly into the keyboard. Also, they know that people who want the 18 G-keys will pay the price for them.

This is a great mod, thank you. One suggestion would be to re-orient the skill buttons so that they are either:

1: in a straight line across, from 1 to 6, like the number keys above the keyboard are, or,

2: swap the top row with the bottom row, so that they are oriented in the same way as the numpad on the keyboard.

If you did either of those things, this would be the best UI mod evar!

Cheers!
-B.

I absolutely love this tradeskill window it does everything I need.

I am noticing something though and am not sure if its a bug or something in the new patch or what.

When I try to click create I can only click on the very top of the create button and often have to hit it several times before it 'takes'. Not sure if its the mod or something gone wonky with the latest patch and my mouse.
