Discuss this and other Mother's UI pieces here.
** GU29 Compatible - No changes **
This should be the final piece of the set started with mother's group, mother's target, and mother's player and pet windows. Here's my attempt at a raid window that's flexible enough for everyone.
Arrange the group member display of you raid in one of 4 layouts:
6 vertical, 6 horizontal, 3x2 or 2x3
Arrange the groups themselves in one of 8 layouts:
4 vertical, 3 vertical, 2 vertical, 2x2 square, 2-4 horizontal, and just added free-form mode which allows each of the 4 windows to be individually positioned or hidden.
That gives 32 total layout possibilities which should fit just about any screen layout. Uhmmm, yeah, and I'm planning for the future, like Sony with the one layout that's 3500 pixels wide x 59 tall. Seriously, there should be at least 24 combinations that are less than 1600 pixels wide.
Background transparency is working and adjustable with the Sony window controls.
Re-laying out of the raid window is accomplished with the hidden except on mouseover button at the bottom left of the window shown in the third image on this page. Just select the raid and group layouts you want and have at.
I don't raid a lot, so please throw in on my thread if there's something I need to know to improve this one.
Version 2.0.0
Major overhaul. Acting on the suggestions of downloaders, I have looked at Ger's raid window and quite possibly successfully adapted it.
To move the windows or set group visibility individually, select "Free form" from the raid layout option.
Some things to note:
1. In free form mode, the individual group positions do not save. You'll have to put them where you want then each login. It was a challenge to get it to save the group layout. Don't ask for miracles
2. If you have problems with the raid window saving your group layout, try hiding it with alt-r before logging out. I think it should save anyhow, but if it doesn't, hiding the window should force it.
3. In free form mode, you cannot right-click on the raid window to pull up the window transparency options. Sorry, just doesn't work. Switch it to another layout, set your transparency, flip it back to free form.
4. You will probably want to set your mouse-over and no mouse-over transparencies to the same value in free form mode. Essentially, that mode works by making the raid window cover the entire screen. So, unless your mouse is in another window, it's in the raid window. Could cause the transparency to flicker oddly sometimes if you don't set the values the same. You've been warned.
That's it, try it out and let me know the result.
Version 1.0.1
Found an error that prevented raid member health from appearing unless you also had Mother's Group Window installed. (/shame)

Not sure if you still monitor this, but I love your group window with pets.
Does the Raid window have pet bars as well?
Thanks,
Mal

I <3 this mod, it still works fine for me. It's compact in the mode that I use it in, which really helps me keep an eye on the raid's health as a healer, but I can also see what's going on since it doesn't take up most of the screen!

I use either 4x6 down or 4x6 across. This happened when I used a UI that was a collection of various UI mods and now when I have ProfitUI installed.
I have also tried using it with and without frames.
I have a feeling that it perhaps happens more the longer the raid has been running, which can be up to 5+ hours.
I also suspect it may not only be when a player is moved between raid groups, but it only happens when the raid is not fighting, a time when player arrangement is possible. It may have been when a player in a group other than my own was made group leader or something similar which I would not easily notice.

I really have no idea on that one. I haven't raided at all since I finished MOA on my main. My guild rarely has more than 3 people on at a time anymore, so it's really hard for me to test anything with the raid window.
I'll look at any more information you can collect on what happens, when, and guesses of why - but like I said - it's hard for me to test it myself.
You didn't by any chance switch from full screen to windowed (or back) during those breaks, did you? That could cause the window to reset possibly. But other than that, I'm currently at a loss.
I can see if SOE has changed anything with the default raid window that I need to incorporate, but I've kept an eye out during all the GU's, so unless they sneaked it in there...
Anyhow, I'll see if I can find anything.

hmmm further note - it can actually occurr during combat as well, and atm I have to play in full sized window mode 100% of the time, and dont use fullscreen at all. Although it also happens in fullscreen mode.

Have you tried it with background and frames enabled like the person 4 posts down suggested? If that does in fact stop the window crashing you, please post so I can /bug it as the window should work with those set in either position.
I cannot test it myself as I am never a raid leader.

I got same problem so I had to use back default raid window for last night raiding. Every time I tried to move ppl to open spot (not swapping members), I verified the crash.
Though... default raid window won't allow me drag ppl to open spot... or is this just me?

This looks like a nice mod and im planning on downloading it and using it but I have an interesting idea.
I get moved around on raids a lot and It takes me a few extra seconds to find what group ive been moved to. Sometimes i dont even know ive been moved and cant figure out why I cant put buffs on people. What would really be neat is a mod that has three of the groups backgrounds be transparent and the group you are in's background is the color of your choice. If you move groups, the background changes to indicate what group you are now in and the group you were in before becomes transparent background. What do you think?

I can also attest to this... I love the window (ex-FFXIer (^_^)) and all of your mods, but moving people around in a raid boots me to the desktop with an error that it's unable to access d:\live\eq2, which sounds like a server path. If I get it (aka: tonight when I crash), I'll screenshot the error and post it up.
Cheers on the great UI pieces and thanks!

It is certainly possible. As a matter of a fact, I use mine with the altered color icons. But I didn't make the icons, and therefore don't take credit for them or package them with my raid window.
To use the altered color icons:
Mathod 1:
Download another author's raid window with the raid icon colors changed. The archtype icons are in a file called widgets01.dds. Extract that file into your customUI directory's images folder. (For example: C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest II\UI\EQ2MAP\Images)
Method 2:
Download another author's raid window withe the archtype icons changed. Install that raid window according to the author's instructions. Then install Mother's raid window.
Either way, you should have a working raid window with the proper archtype icons, and the person who put the effort into altering them gets proper credit for their work.
