EQUtil - Step 4
|
|
- Features -
EQUtil is a free, no-ads program that runs alongside Everquest 2 (this is not a mod, it's a standalone product).
Current Features:
- Heritage Quest tracking for each of your characters. Easily view which quests you've done and what is still remaining.
- Simple, one-click access to any Heritage Quest's wiki entry.
- Keeps track of your heritage quest titles.
There are many additional features currently being developed. I figured I would release the first section now to receive feedback on the current progress of the program. Suggestions are encouraged and I can be reached either through this thread or at the email address in the About menu of the program.
Features in development:
- Furniture Browser
- Crafting Database (linked to harvestables... where to go for rares)
- Harvestables and other related info (which zone, which rares, etc)
- AA Planner
And more to come as time allows.
- Prerequisites -
You must have the following installed to run this program correctly (many computers will have these already, but they can be found below):
Microsoft .NET Framework 4
SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2
- How to Use -
Step 1: Select the 'Add new' button.
Step 2: Add character name and check mark completed quests.
Step 3: Save Character.
Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 for every character. Use the arrow buttons next to the 'Add new' button to switch between characters.
- Changelog -
v1.1.2 (10/3/12)
===================
- Fixed mbox title of 'About' link.
- Added installer.
- Fixed icon issue where it wasn't displaying correctly.
v1.1.1 (10/1/12)
===================

- Locked window size (again, Thanks Leaps!)
- Added text to explain quests could be clicked for wiki (hurrah for Leaps!)
v1.1.0
===================
- code overhaul for easier expansion, cleaner code, and faster speeds.
- removed old database entries and added new.
- Added Quests Done/Remaing and the Title display.
- no default database entry, users will have to start a new entry upon entering.
- added minimize button.
- added colors / fonts / text
v1.0.2
===================
- Made it so default values when starting a new row are set to 'False', rather than 'Null'.
- Added email address to the 'about' menu
v1.0.1
===================
- Initial beta release.

To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.
To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Eliminate Admin Requirement
You really, seriously need to remove the requirement to run as Administrator. Not sure why it's happening, unless you are writing something to %ProgramFiles%, or using HKLM in the system registry insead of HKCU. Should be a fairly easy thing to fix. (Don't use %ProgramFiles% for modified files, use %ProgramData%, for example.)
It's just a wee bit annoying to have to use Administrator when running a program that has no need for administrator access.

Nuts, was REALLY hoping that would fix it I'll poke around further and see what I can see; hopefully it's a known issue with a work-around. Got some thing going on the next day or two but I'll definitely keep you posted on my findings. Sorry to hear you're having trouble; hopefully we'll get it resolved!!
Cheers!

Maybe it's a general configuration issue in my OS, a deactivated service or else, I have no clue.
Atm I'm not in the mood to set up my OS new, but in about 2-3 months I will buy a new machine, and if we haven't found a solution for my current PC until then, I will give the program a new try on the new machine. Thanks for the help, now and in advance

I just installed your program, but can't get it to work properly. Microsoft .NET Framework 4 is already installed on my machine, SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2 I had just downloaded and installed properly, both the 32bit and 64bit Version as it is required for a 64bit Windows7.
Your program is starting, but all I get is a black Window and most of the content is missing, regardless if I'm running it as Administrator or not. Also tried compatibility mode WinXP SP2, same result
What I'm overlooking? Thanks in advance for any enlightening, I really would like to use this program. I attach a link to the screenshot I mode from the program window, hope you can help me to get it work properly. Thanks in advance.
