2.1 Installation Notes & Cautions
Often, installing a new UI, or upgrading an existing UI will cause certain windows to move around a bit, and sometimes "disappear". Also, remember that F10 cycles through the HUD modes, and if inadvertantly bumped, can cause your UI to disappear. Following is a list of some of the common "hotkeys" used to make windows visible / invisible.

C Compass Window =
<ALT> + N Group Window =
<ALT> + G Raid Window =
<ALT> + R Guild Window = U

T IMPORTANT NOTE: Install the UI and any additional options / UI mods BEFORE installing the EQ2Map Auto-Updater. Once the map updater is installed, make sure to run it PRIOR to running EQ2 for the first time.
Download the distribution Archive file from eq2interface.com, and save it someplace easy to find. Popular locations include the desktop, "My documents" folder, or the ..\EverQuest 2\UI Folder.
Extract the files from the distribution file to your EQ2 UI Folder. Make sure to Cut and paste the EQ2.ini file from the UI Folder into your EQ2 main directory. This is the file that tells EQ2 what UI to load.
This UI is a complete reskin of the EverQuest II UI. As such, most other UI mods should work with a minimum of trouble.
Special Features:
Player Window:
Skull Flashes when attacking
Displays Avoidance, Mitigation, and current / max HP's and Power
Displays Experience, Tradeskill Experience, current adventure / tradeskill level, and current debt
Displays concentration
Group Window:
Skull "fills" when casting, harvesting, or using abilities / combat arts.
displays harmful effects on groupmembers (overlayed on top of the skull)
displays current / max hp's of groupmembers
clicking the groupmembers name/health bar acts as the /assist command
spell / combat art / ability name displayed under the window, along with "error" messages (IE, the door you are trying to click is "Too Far Away".)
Target Window - 4 versions to choose from:
"Melee" Version (Default) - skulls flash when attacking
"caster" version (optional, see below) - skulls "fill" when casting or using abilities
"Standard" Version (optional, see below) - skulls sit there looking pretty, with no distracting flashing, etc.
"No Skulls" Version (Optional, see below) - Skulls removed to make target bar smaller and more manageable
all versions include "implied target" (Health of Target's Target for those transitioning from EQ1)
Quest Journal:
Lists writs for both Freeport and Qeynos citizens
lists heritage quests up through Desert of Flames expansion
Lists lore & legends information
harvesting information up to tier 6
Prismatic weapons quest tree information
hunting guide
housing prices
guild rewards
live update 18 compliant, you can still see quest rewards
Hotkey Bar:
3/4 size icons are hardcoded - the "slider" to resize the hotkey bar is not supported by default, see below for instructions to enable it.
available with or without scrollbar arrows. In the version without them, you can hit <SHIFT> + # to change hotkey pages rapidly.
Knowledge book:
very detailed artwork. The skull at the bottom spine of the book acts as the close button.
the upper and lower corners on the left side will take you to the first page, and on the right side, will take you to the last page.
approximately half way down each page on the very edge, the red arrow's will take you to the next or previous page.
loadscreens:
the artwork viewed while zoning has been replaced with selected T. King prints. This does not apply to the Desert of Flames expansion, as it would more than triple the size of the UI. (Each DoF zone has it's own loadscreen folder... and you wondered why that patch took so long to download!!)
2.2 EQ2Map Auto-Updater Installation - If you already have the EQ2Map updater installed, skip this step.
To install the EQ2Map updater, simply double-click on the EQ2MAP-Updater-1.0.6-Setup.exe file, located in the EQ2\UI\Undead-Gothic folder. For support, visit the message board forum listed in section 1.2

3. UI Options and Configuration
While in game, type /con_version 0 for the "Detailed" (arrows) consider system.
While in Game, Type /con_version 1 for the "Simple" (Symbols) consider system.
To disable the quest journal, navigate to your EQ2\UI\Undead-Gothic folder. Find the file named eq2ui_journals_quest.xml, and rename it to eq2ui_journals_quest-OFF.xml
To enable scroll arrows on the hotkey bar (instead of using SHIFT+# to change hotkey pages), find the eq2ui_mainhud_hotkey.xml file, and re-name it to eq2ui_mainhud_hotkey-NOSCROLL. Then, Locate the eq2ui_mainhud_hotkey-BANKS.xml and rename it to eq2ui_mainhud_hotkey.xml
To enable the Caster version of the target bar, rename the eq2ui_mainhud_target.xml file to eq2ui_mainhud_target-melee.xml. Rename the eq2ui_mainhud_target-CASTER.xml file to eq2ui_mainhud_target.xml.
To enable the standard version of the target bar, rename the eq2ui_mainhud_target.xml file to eq2ui_mainhud_target-melee.xml (or caster, depending which version you're using), and rename eq2ui_mainhud_target-STANDARD.xml to eq2ui_mainhud_target.xml.
To enable the no-skulls version of the target bar, rename theeq2ui_mainhud_target.xml file to eq2ui_mainhud_target-melee.xml (or caster, depending which version you're using), and rename eq2ui_mainhud_target-NOSKULL.xml to eq2ui_mainhud_target.xml.
To enable the default casting progress bar in addition to the group window progress bar, rename eq2ui_mainhud_casting.xml to eq2ui_mainhud_casting-DEFAULT.xml

All artwork used in this UI is the original creation, or slightly modified versions, of Tom (Thomus) King. Additional code by Kuvasie and Wulfgyr, except as noted below.
The Quest Journal contained within this UI was originally made by Valdacil, and further revamped by Silverfox.
Zonx and Burgdorf inspired the re-write of the compass and clock windows, though all code was written by wulfgyr.
