Using the DarqUI Live Window Manager
Customizable DarqUI Live windows use the Window Manager to make configuration changes. The settings page for most windows can be invoked in a couple of different ways. For windows that have a titlebar, click the blue gem on the right-hand side of the titlebar. Windows without titlebars have a blue gem button in the upper left-hand corner that stays hidden until you move your mouse cursor over the area.
The only exceptions are bags and hotbars, which have no Window Manager buttons. To show the settings page for bags, open the Character (Persona) window to the Inventory tab. Mouse-over the bag area to show the blue gem button. To open the hotbar settings page, invoke the Window Manager from any of the other windows and then select the hotbar page from the dropdown box at the top.
The Group and Raid windows do not appear as selections on the dropdown menu. Because their configuration is more complex, the Window Manager can only be invoked directly from the Group or Raid window itself.
Unless you are using the dropdown box to select a window, you must close the Window Manager before loading a different settings page from the blue gem.
Making UI Changes
If you are just starting out with DarqUI Live, it is a good idea to use the interface as-is until you encounter a default setting that you wish to change. Almost all configurations changes can be made either temporary or permanent. For example, you might decide to change the default self-cure method on the Threat/Detriment window.
When you invoke the Window Manager and make the change, you will notice a small "Save" button appears near the changed item. Even though the cure method was changed when you made the selection, you have a choice of whether to make that change temporary or permanent. If you close the Window Manager without clicking the Save button, the new cure method will be used until you log out, reload the UI or switch characters. If you want to make the change permanent for this character across game sessions, click the Save button before closing the Window Manager.
If you change a setting temporarily and later decide to make it permanent, reopen the Window Manager and change the desired setting away from and back to the desired value which will raise the Save button again.
Important: Because of the way the Window Manager saves your customizations, each change that you make raises a separate Save button. When you click to save that particular setting, a confirmation box appears with an "OK" button. It is important to click the OK button in the confirmation box once for each configuration setting that you are changing. If you click all of the Save buttons and then only click the OK button once at the end, only the last setting will be saved across game sessions.
Switching Characters
Important: Custom settings for all of your characters are loaded once from disk when you start the game, but they are not refreshed when you switch between characters. Therefore any new configuration changes you make during a game session will only be visible while that character remains loaded, or until you restart the game or reload the user interface. If you find that a new setting does not seem to have been saved when switching between characters, restart the game or reload the UI using the /loadui command.
