Heritage quests are quests from which you earn status as well as experience, and which reward you with items well-remembered from EQ1. Those items, once earned, can be actively used, or can be mounted for display in your in-game home.

Note that the levels listed above are not necessarily the actual levels of the quests; they are, rather, the levels at which the quests might reasonably be completed with the assistance of a good group. Note also that several of these quests can only be started once you've completed prerequisite quests. (For example, "An Axe from the Past" cannot be started until you've first learned to speak Giantish and then completed an easier quest for Obsid Boulderboom.)

If you've obtained Ghoulbane, and have also obtained the Sword of Thunder from the "Berek's Revenge" quest, you can combine the two into the Electrified Bone Bladed Claymore. Also, the second Ghoulbane heritage quest ("Ghoulbane Empowered") is actually a subquest of the "Symbol in the Flesh" heritage quest, though it is counted separately when your heritage quests are totaled for suffix purposes.

The heritage quest which rewards you with the Cloak of Flames is actually a series of nine quests: "An Old Memoir," "The Fourth Warrior," "The Fourth Warrior - Silken Drape," "The Fourth Warrior - Woven Metal," "The Fourth Warrior - Leather Cloak," "The Fourth Warrior - Ardent Cowl," "The Fourth Warrior - The Solusek Mining Co," "The Fourth Warrior - Jhal'Dolek" and "The Fourth Warrior - Unification." Only the final quest in the series counts toward gaining suffix titles.

As you complete heritage quests, you earn suffixes that you can display after your name. When you've completed five heritage quests, for example, you can be "the Treasure Hunter"; ten completed quests allow you to be "the Lore Seeker"; twenty allow you to label yourself "the Relic Keeper." And if you manage to complete thirty of them, you can go shopping for a fedora and bullwhip, and join Indiana Jones as "the Artifact Raider." Whenever you qualify for a new suffix, speak to the tome salesman in your city's mage tower to receive it. You'll also be given a certificate which can be displayed in your in-game home.
